WILD WIND FOLK ART & CRAFT FEST PLANNED

The43rd annual Wild Wind Folk Art & Craft Festival ó Celebrating Artistic Excellence and Family Fun takes place on Saturday, Sept. 9 and Sunday, Sept. 10 at the Warren County Fairgrounds, 371 Barton Run Road, Route 6, Pittsfield, Pa. Held rain or shine, the hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.

As one of Warren County’s long-standing community events, we are proud to once again honor the unwavering spirit of handcrafted artistry by putting together a weekend that cannot be equaled. From potters to painters, toy builders to jewelry designers, quilters to blacksmiths, chainsaw carvers to furniture makers, Wild Wind’s artists are chosen to captivate all interests. The fairgrounds offer an idyllic setting for the show, with 150 juried craftsmen and their wares set up in quaint, open air barns and the surrounding outdoor areas under tents. Whether searching for a one-of-a-kind collector’s piece or a small gift item, there is something for every taste and wallet.

Combining this dedication to creativity with a committed effort to offer family-centered experiences, Wild Wind is an event for all. Children can delight in the ever-popular traveling petting zoo, face painting, balloon artistry, and more. Another favorite is the Tamarack Wildlife Center with its birds of prey exhibit and lectures.

Returning this year, teams of oxen and their 4-H trainers will be stationed throughout the fairgrounds. Visi- tors are encouraged to ask questions about these magnificent animals.

Alexander the Magician is back again to delight children and adults alike with a new twist on his unique blend of humor and enchantments. This award-winning entertainer plans to share his talents with performances throughout the weekend.

A shady picnic grove is a wonderful retreat for festivalgoers, while a culinary feast of delectable foods await those looking for a bite to eat. Live music is on deck to add to the ambiance with the band Temple Grey taking the stage on Saturday. On Sunday the event is excited to host Elvis Impersonator, Caesare, The Dream King! The “Ultimate Elvis Tribute,” Caesare aims to showcase his talents - from the songs to the stage presence - with authentic performances scheduled throughout the day. The Wild Wind Folk Art & Craft Festival welcomes you to make a treasured memory by joining them for the day - or the whole weekend - to embrace the wonder of award-winning craftsmanship and family fun. The admission fees are $8 for adults, $6 for seniors, and free for children 12 and under. As an added bonus, those who attend on Saturday can return on Sunday free of charge.
