GUIDE TO RE-OPENING for Saskatoon Residents

Star#ng Monday, June 15, the City of Saskatoon is set to resume some front counter services within the Corporate Revenue Customer Service and Bill Payment Centre located in the lobby of City Hall. The City will offer in-person service in the lobby 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday to Friday, closed Holidays. The only public entrance to services in the lobby will be via City Hall’s main entrance doors located off 3rd Avenue North. As City Hall opera#ons are guided by the requirements of the current Provincial Health Order, physical distancing, enhanced sani#za#on protocols and limits of 15 people inside City Hall’s lobby will be in place. With the lobby’s limited capacity, customers may be asked to line-up physically distanced outside of the entrance doors un#l they can be safely accommodated. The use of a face mask is encouraged if you are visi#ng City Hall, and please do not enter City Hall if you have COVID-19 symptoms or have been in contact with an ill individual. Visitors to City Hall’s lobby will no#ce it has been slightly modified – keeping the health, safety and well-being of our employees and ci#zens is our top priority: • New in-person safety measures include a hand-sani#zing sta#on before entry; • Physical distancing and direc#onal traffic signage reminders; • Plexiglass barriers installed at service counters to allow for the protec#on of our City employees and for safer interac#on with our customers; and • All customers will be greeted by a Customer Service Ambassador or Security staff member who will provide assistance and direc#on. Some examples of in-person transac#ons offered at the Payment Centre include: (payment methods include cash, cheque or debit; no credit cards accepted) • Property Tax and U#lity Bill Payments • Bylaw/ Parking Ticket and Flex Parking Card Payments With the busy property tax payment season ahead, ci#zens may pay their 2020 Property Tax at their financial ins#tu#on or use City Hall’s front entrance drop box to deliver a cheque. PROPOSED ZONING BYLAW TEXT AMENDMENT – BYLAW NO. 9707 Saskatoon City Council will consider an amendment to the City’s Zoning Bylaw (No. 8770). By way of Bylaw No. 9707 The Zoning Amendment Bylaw, 2020 (No. 15), the FUD – Future Urban Development District would be amended to provide for the site area of parcels zoned FUD – Future Urban Development District to be reduced subject to the Holding Symbol (H) being applied. The proposed amendment would s%pulate that the Holding Symbol (H) may only be removed when further rezoning and subdivision occurs in line with an approved Concept Plan. The proposed text amendment will facilitate the subdivision of land in new neighbourhoods for land exchange purposes. REASON FOR THE AMENDMENT – As development commences in a new neighbourhood, subdivision o"en occurs to provide for the exchange of land for ownership purposes, in advance of future development. Further rezoning and subdivision of these sites is then required to create development sites. The minimum site area for most uses in the FUD District is 32 hectares. Sites created for land exchange will vary in size and are o"en less than 32 hectares in area and therefore, cannot be accommodated under the current regula%ons for minimum site area. The proposed amendment would facilitate the subdivision of land in new neighbourhoods for land exchange purposes.
