SNOW WHAT TO DO THIS WINTER Winter will soon be upon us and City crews are prepared to sand, salt and plow streets to keep Saskatoon drivers moving. Get to know what happens in Saskatoon when it snows and how you can be prepared. What you can expect: 1. When it snows, snow clearing, sanding and salting occurs at intersections and high-traffic roads to remove snow and ice and add traction. 2. During and after a winter storm, plows and graders clear high-traffic roads first before working on other roads. What you can do: 1. Please adjust your winter driving habits. Reduce your speed, do not stop suddenly and allow more time to get to your destination. 2. If you encounter snow clearing equipment on the road, please slow down, remain 15 metres (2.5 car lengths) behind the equipment and be prepared to stop as needed. 3. Please clear your sidewalks within 48 hours after a snowfall. Help others where and if you can. Businesses need to clear their sidewalks within 24 hours.
