Country superstar Brad Paisley is coming to Saskatoon August 19, at SaskTel Centre. The Saskatoon concert date will be one of only a few Canadian summer concert dates planned for 2017. Paisley brings Chase Bryant and Lindsay Ell to perform as well. Brad Paisley is a critically acclaimed

singer, songwriter, guitarist and entertainer whose talents have earned him numerous awards, including three Grammy Awards, two American Music Awards, 14 Academy of Country Music Awards and 14 Country Music Association Awards (including Entertainer of the Year), among many others. He has been a proud member of the Grand Ole Opry since 2001. Paisley has written 21 of his 24 #1 hits including “He Didn’t Have to

The Saskatoon Rodeo Committee in conjunction with SaskTel Centre is pleased to announce that Saskatoon will host the Saskatoon Spring Rodeo on May 13 and 14 at SaskTel Centre. The Saskatoon Spring Rodeo presented by Dakota Dunes Casino will be a full scale rodeo event sanction by the Canadian Cowboy’s Association. The Saskatoon Spring Rodeo presented by Dakota Dunes Casino will feature eleven (11) events which will be showcased at each performance include: bull riding, saddle bronc, bareback riding, team roping, junior steer riding, junior barrel racing, ladies barrel racing, tie down roping, steer wrestling, novice bareback riding and novice saddle bronc. Rodeo kicks off at 7 p.m. on May 13 and then 2 p.m. May 14. Tickets are $20 for adults, $15 for students, $10 for children (12 and under) and a family pass is available at $50. Fireside Singers present spring production – Pippin! The Saskatoon Fireside Singers are having a fabulous time rehearsing for their spring production of Pippin, June 1 and 2 at TCU Place. Composer Stephen Schwartz is a four-time Grammy Award winner, and a three-time Oscar Winner, recognized for brilliant musical theatre productions such as Wicked, Godspell and Children of Eden. His awards include a 2013 Tony for Pippin – for best revival of a musical. The story centers on Prince Pippin’s search for the meaning of life. As heir

to the Frankish throne of Charlemagne the Great, Pippin pursues fame, fortune and happiness through many exciting and exhilarating adventures – only to find that true happiness is not found in the unusual and extraordinary – but in common, everyday experiences. The show features a script packed with hilarity and compelling musical numbers. Emotional solos, ensembles and choruses range from the sublime to the ridiculous. The audience will leave with huge smiles on their faces! The Fireside Singers are led by artistic

director Marilyn Whitehead, stage director Albert Couture and choreographer Kelsey Stone. A cast of 74 performers sing, act and dance their way through the evening. They are supported by pianist Bonnie Nicholson and a full orchestra of first-class musicians. The result will be an evening of light-hearted, magical, intriguing drama presented with dynamic energy and clever comic timing. Saskatoon Fireside Singers perform Pippin June 1 and 2 at TCU Place. Mr. Music Box Dancer stops at TCU Place Internationally known pianist Frank Mills shines his musical light once again as he returns to the stage in An Evening with Frank Mills at TCU Place, May 11. It’s like spending an evening in Frank’s living room as he shares the music, memories, humour and wisdom that come from over forty years at the piano, in the studio, on the road, and on stages around the world. The show will include familiar Mills classics, including of course “Music Box Dancer, combined with songs Frank likes to call “After the Dancer”… popular recordings from his career that you may not have heard in awhile. On a personal level, Frank will share incredible stories - from growing up in a house full of music, the struggles and the humour of breaking into the music business… and most certainly the story of one special song that almost never got released, but would eventually skyrocket his career to international fame.
