Juno Award winners and multiplatinum chart-toppers Hedley announced their coastto-coast 2016 Canadian arena tour in support of their sixth studio album, Hello. Hedley will perform at SaskTel Centre, May 5 with very special guest Carly Rae Jepsen, and Francesco Yates. Once again featuring a state-of-the-art stage production, the 2016 tour will be Hedley’s most impressive show to date, with staging elements that will bring the band closer to the fans than ever before. “Playing live is who we are, and going on tour is the ultimate way for us to interact with our fans,” said frontman and creative force Jacob Hoggard in a news release. “We’re about to unveil the most spectacular tour we’ve ever embarked upon. We can’t wait to connect
with each and every one of our fans, in person…and to pull some pretty amazing tricks out of our sleeves. We have amazing fans and we can’t wait to share this with them.” Having sold close to 500,000 tickets in Canadian arenas since 2010, Hedley have quickly and quietly become one of the most successful touring acts in the country. In 2013 alone, the Wild Life tour sold 150,000 tickets across Canada. Supporting Hedley on the Hello World Tour is pop sensation Carly Rae Jepsen, whose infectious “Call Me Maybe” was one of the biggest hits in the world in 2012. Francesco Yates is only 20 years old, but his debut single “Better to Be Loved” has already rocketed him to stardom, and was quickly followed by the swoony ballad “Call”. Tickets start at $35 (plus fees) and are available at www.ticketmaster.ca.

THE WHO Hits 50! comes to Saskatoon on May 6! The first leg of the tour received critical acclaim before being interrupted to allow Roger Daltrey time to recover from viral meningitis. The Who have sold over 100 million records since forming in 1964; they brought together four different personalities and in effect produced a musical hurricane. Each of them was a pioneer. Wildman drummer Keith Moon beat his kit with a chaotic elegance; stoic bassist John Entwistle held down the center with the melodic virtuosity of a solo guitarist; raging intellectual Pete Townshend punctuated the epic universality of his songs with the windmill slamming of his fingers across his guitar strings; and Roger Daltrey roared
above it all with an impossibly virile macho swagger. They exploded conventional rhythm and blues structures, challenged pop music conventions, and redefined what was possible on stage, in the recording studio, and on vinyl. As they enter their 50th year, the band is still going strong, winning rave reviews. Slydigs, who will make their North American debut on this tour opening for The Who, cite a rich tapestry of musical influences. Imagine a mixture of 60s power pop, 70s punk rebellion, 80s post punk angst and some 90s guitar driven Britpop, then throw in a bit of glam rock as well for good measure and you’ll get an idea of what to expect from Slydigs. The Who will take the stage May 6 at SaskTel Centre. Tickets start at $41.50 (plus fees) and can be purchased at all Ticketmaster outlets including www.ticketmaster.ca.

Basil in the ballet), and has Don Quixote and Sancho Panza as secondary roles. This interpretation includes all the sparkle, pizazz and grandiose dances that the ballet is known for, and emphasizes the incredible skill of the dancers. Set to the music by L. Minkus, the Czech violinist, chapel master and composer, Don Quixote combines music and choreography masterfully, making it the ideal performance for ballet admirers. The set and costumes will draw the audience in to the vision of romantic 17th century Spain. Hailing from Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada, Terri Clark got her start playing for tips at Tootsie’s Orchid Lounge, a legendary honky-tonk bar across the alley from Nashville’s historic Ryman Auditorium. Terri emerged as a distinctive voice on the country music landscape – driving, passionate, and spirited – every bit her own woman. The eight-time CCMA Entertainer of the Year has also been named Female Vocalist of the Year five times. She still holds the honour of being the only Canadian female artist to be a member of the Grand Ole Opry. She has sold

In September 2016 Terri will kick off the “Back to My Roots Solo Acoustic Tour.” Fans will experience Terri’s catalogue of hits in a stripped down setting and will hear the stories behind the songs. Clark performs at TCU Place Oct. 18, at 7:30 p.m. Tickets start at $55 (plus fees)
