december 2015 Hello and welcome to The Pentecostals of Sydney where you can experience new life in Christ!
Miracles I love this time of the year, though it can be stressful and costly, yet there is something about this season that to the Christian, should be about more than just food and festivities. While it is true that the exact dates for the Birth of Christ is a point of contention, nevertheless this amazing event is clearly detailed in the New Testament and it ought to be something that the Church considers deeply and indeed rejoices over. It is still one of the most remarkable and miraculous stories‌ of how an allpowerful Deity and Creator of the Universe, a Being who transcends this physical world, entered as a man and dwelt among sinful humanity. The nativity of Jesus Christ is inexplicably miraculous with a young virgin Mary being impregnated by the Holy Spirit; conceiving and giving birth to the promised Messiah, the Immanuel (God with us). What is encouraging to us is that God still performs this same kind of miracle today, in that He enters our lives through
the infilling of the Holy Spirit to anyone who desires to have Jesus Christ in their lives. This is a true miracle in itself and the people of the Pentecostals of Sydney give attestation to this truth that a sinner, thief, liar, drug addict, alcoholic, idolater or atheist could be transformed to become a Spirit-filled, born again, baptised in Jesus name, child of God. In addition to the miracle of a life transformed, God still heals, delivers, provides, empowers, anoints and saves miraculously. He is a miracle working God and we can believe and expect for God to enter our lives miraculously in so many ways. This month, as the year comes to a close, let the door of your heart be opened to Jesus Christ so that He may work a miracle in your life. Matthew 1:23 - Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us. God bless you, !

UPCA General Conference Sat, 2 - Wed, 6 January 2016 Canberra, ACT Guest Speakers: Stan Gleason, Bruce Howell and Allan Shalm This is a wonderful event that takes place at the beginning of every year. It is a time when people from all around Australia gather for fellowship, worship and inspiration. The Conference takes place in Canberra this year so make sure to register. Miracles Christmas Celebration Sunday, 20 December 2015 10am & 6:30pm It’s that time of year again! On this Sunday we will be setting it aside to celebrate the reason for the season, the birth of Jesus. This is a perfect opportunity for you to invite your friends and family to a time of worship, carols and to hear the real Christmas story. There will be performances from the POS band, Chorale, Choir, Children’s Choir and others. It is going to be an incredible day at the POS! You will not want to miss it!

Midweek Services Wednesdays 7:30pm In the month of December and January we give our Home Group Leaders a break and we have services at the POS on Wednesdays instead of meeting in homes. It is a great night of worship and teaching of the Word of God. That being said there will be no Midweek Services on the 23rd or 30th of this month.

Home Groups These groups meet during the week in homes all across Sydney’s many suburbs. Here is a list of the suburbs we are currently holding groups:
New Life Journey We invite you to join NLJ; a teaching program conducted on Sunday mornings following worship. These classes will cover questions you may have about doctrine, why we worship the way we do, what God really has in store for your life and how God’s love for you can conquer all. These classes are very beneficial to your Christian walk, so take your first steps with Jesus today!
We Offer Services in Other Languages We are blessed at the POS to have a very multicultural church. Because of that we offer translating, services and Bible studies in different languages. Mandarin - Sunday -10am & 6:30pm Fijian - Third Sunday of the month- 3pm

Other Ministries: Sunday School Sunday school operates every Sunday morning following the worship service. We have classes that accommodate children from 4 to 12 years old. Classes are always fun and exciting so make sure your children are getting the most out of the their visit to the POS.
Life Studies Life Studies are an enjoyable, non-threatening way to learn more about the Bible. We can meet with you in your home, our home, or a coffee shop. The studies are less than an hour but have the power to change your life. Contact one of our hosts if you would like to start a Life Study.
