Etricks moped launch at Bath & West Show The etricks moped will be launching at the Bath & West Show - available in 10 colours
Powabyke are launching their latest electric vehicle - the etricks electric moped, at the Bath & West show in Shepton Mallet running from 1-4 June. This exciting vehicle looks like a futuristic trial bike and should create a stir in the EV community. The etricks will come in 10 different colours and is powered by Lithium Polymeer batteries. It also has a battery management system, adjustable springs and is available as an off-road version also (without lights, front and rear, carrier). It will have a dealer price of somewhere between £2000 and £3000.
Leasing scheme offers more choice A new scheme that will allow people to lease the latest electric battery powered bicycles is to come into effect shortly in the UK. This should fulfil a growing public demand for using electric bikes by setting up a rental scheme that will be made
available through a national network of rental companies. Powabyke will supply each rental company participating in this scheme with five to 10 electric bikes. The bikes that will be used will come from the new X-byke Mk2 range of models from Powabyke and include the X-6, a six gear electric bike, and also the low stepthrough version known as the XLS, which is popular with the ladies. Expect a press release soon!
Media darlings Powabykes have been popping up in a number of publications and online media channels lately. You may have noticed us in Bike Biz, Saga online, Business Traveller, Seatplans, Bicycle Buyer magazine, Trade-It, CSMA magazine, MMM, SME Web, The Bath Chronicle and other regional newspapers, Real travel magazine, Electric Bike magazine and the Trade and Industry portfolio... and the list goes on!

There have been some big changes on our website. We have taken off the out-of-date models and updated with the new ones. There are several new buttons and options on the website. We have a growing list of international distributors for instance and their contact details are now visible to the world. The Media Zone is also up, this can be found on the homepage up the top, and has an image bank for journalists and dealers to access imagery of all our current bikes. Simply look under the Print or Web image options – select your bike and download. There are images of close-ups also if you want to do some homegrown marketing or need detailed imagery for a journalistic feature. The brochure for the X-bykes and powatryke is also downloadable as a PDF on the homepage. Lastly - there will be a new press release every month available for the news section.
Powabyke brochure and Point of Sale material The brochures for the Mk2 X-bykes (and Cruiser) are now printed. If you are a dealer and need some brochures please inform us and we will put you on our list for distribution. Point of Sale material such as posters, postcards and stickers will also be in production soon and this will be limited to a 100 dealers. If you think you can benefit from Point of Sale material please send us an email and we may be able to get you on the list although please note there are limited supplies. Powabyke insurance In conjunction with Cycleguard, we have set up an insurance offer for the Powabykes after receiving many enquiries. This insurance will be available on the main website homepage. This is part of our aftercare service which we are enhancing continually.
Promoting Powashop We are now advertising the fact in press such as Electric Bike magazine that our online Powashop (found on the homepage) is up-andrunning and includes free delivery on any parts or spares you need to order. Powashop is the best way to order parts securely online.
The Powabyke website has now been updated and includes the Powa Shop www.powabyke.com
Website changes & updates
Events See you at the show! The Powabyke team are gearing up to go to the Mobility Roadshow in Peterborough 30 June - 2 July. Powabyke will be pitched up near the vehicle demonstrating area where we will be showing off our range of bikes and of course the electric trike. The Mobility Roadshow is the longest running mobility event in the UK having been going for 25 years and is always marked on the Powabyke office calendar. Anyone wanting to try out Powabyke products who is visiting the show, is welcome to have a go.
Next stop, the Oscars! A new YouTube video will soon be in production by Powabyke to be distributed at viral pace. We are currently screentesting Robert DiNiro (not the famous one but the bloke from downstairs in admin) for the main character in this rom-com political court room action scifi fantasy romp. We will post the url on our Facebook and Twitter accounts when it’s ready so keep checking.
Dealer Corner Derek Winstone, The Mobility Centre, Bristol The Mobility Centre in Bristol which has two sites in the city, in St George and Westburyon-Trym, has taken stock, and is showcasing the new Powatryke, aimed at the niche premobility scooter market, at its Westbury-onTrym showroom. Derek Winstone, Manager of the stores said of the new electric battery powered tricycle: “It’s totally unique...This vehicle is nippy! It goes a lot faster than the standard mobility vehicles which are restricted to 8mph. This vehicle can go further and faster than its counterparts on the market at the moment so it has a real practical impact on users’ lives and can make getting around more of a pleasure than a chore”.
