The use of the Polo Valley Finca is exclusive for Powder Byrne clients during the May Half Term, July, August, and October Half Term, and is ideal for one large family or a group of families travelling together.

Providing you with a perfect balance of exciting new experiences like learning to ride, the first introduction to polo as a game, all the way through to playing stick and ball, and even your first family Chukkas with your own team pro! With every aspect professionally catered to the individual family members all learning, playing and then relaxing together in a unique environment that keeps you wanting to come back for more.

Exclusively For Your Family

You will have exclusive use of our gorgeous and authentic Spanish Finca situated in the heart of the ranch grounds and sleeps up to eight people in comfortable en-suite bedrooms on full board with daily cleaning. Perfect for a large family or two families travelling together. The Finca has a private pool and fabulous dining terrace elegantly set within relaxing gardens. Best of all, the Guesthouse is expertly run by two local cooks who serve up delicious Spanish cuisine such as gazpacho, tortilla, paella, colourful fresh salads and special Argentinian-style Asado BBQ. Together with the onsite concierge team, they take care of all your requirements throughout your stay at the Finca.

Professionally Run For Your Family

We know that, just like skiing, almost everyone who tries polo falls in love with it. There is something appealing for everyone in the family, whether it be the riding, hitting the ball accurately, playing in a team, the speed and adrenaline, the competitiveness (which comes later), or the social scene around the game. It is a phenomenal sport for so many reasons that we know our clients will especially enjoy. Our Learn Together programme is always run by experienced and professional instructors in a safe and controlled environment. It is very hands-on to give you the best start to riding and start to play polo on the first day. Our ponies are well trained and hand-selected to the individual. We can supply all the kit, in some cases children may need to wear their own shoes due to size and comfort.

To Learn With Your Family

The Learn Together programme runs Saturday-Saturday throughout July and August and May-October half term. The structure of the programme runs for 5 days (Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday) and includes the following itinerary:

MONDAY

30min Riding Lesson + 30 min Swing Techniques + 1hr Polo Lesson (throughout the day)

TUESDAY

1hr Polo Lesson + afternoon 1hr River Ride + Evening Asado which is an optional extra

WEDNESDAY

Rest & Day together as a family

THURSDAY

1hr Polo Lesson + 30min Penalty Shooting + 30min Attack & Defence Skills

FRIDAY

30min Warm-up Session with physio + 1 hr official Beginner Polo Match + 30min debrief of the week

*Additional riding lessons, hacks (riding in the countryside), polo lessons, and 1hr chukkas can be arranged subject to availability.

This is a unique family holiday to enjoy together and outside of polo, Sotogrande has so much to entertain you.
