CC: My name is Christine Chama, Zambian by nationality. I am from a family of four Children and I happen to be the second born and the only girl child.

PGMAG: Congratulations on your recent achievement as a graduate of University of Zambia.

CC: Thank you so much.

PGMAG: What are some of the challenges you had to face on your journey as a woman on a mission, and how did you manage to overcome those obstacles?

CC: Some of the challenges I did are in terms of infrastructure accessibility at the University and this was due to the fact that I am a person with a disability. Also just fitting into the new environment with more people without disabilities.

I managed to overcome those obstacles by first believing in myself that I was able to overcome my challenges. Also with my parents and siblings always being there to encourage me and making me understand that I should always focus and pay more attention to my abilities and not my disability.

PGMAG: What would you say to those who are afraid to pursue their dreams due to their disability?

CC:

Always focus on your abilities and not your disability. Never should you let your disability hinder your dreams because as a person with a disability you have abilities as well and that should be your driving force to pursuing and achieving your dreams.

CC: To the World leaders help persons with disabilities realise their abilities by implementing policies that are inclusive.
