PGMAG: From what your profile says; you are a woman who is passionate about the wellbeing of others. Pleas tell us more about who you are and what are about in the world.
ZN: I am a passionate Mental Health Wellbeing Therapist and speaker who works with professional men, women and organisations who struggle with anxiety, stress, health and mental health issues. I am a qualified performance Life Coach | NLP Practitioner (Neuro Linguistic Programmer) |Mental Health First Aider, Kinetic Shift| Rapid Hypnotist| Mindfulness Practitioner and an EFT Therapist. Also accredited and a member of the ANLP, UK Hypnosis Academy and Energy Practitioners Association. I am also the author of the book ‘Begin Each Day with Affirmations
and Empowering Questions.’ I truly believe it’s possible to have a healthy mind and healthy body to allow you to reach your goals/ dreams for successfully when you have the right tools and strategies at hand- importantly to be open and authentic with yourself. When you are mindful, both works hand in hand then amazing things begin to happen.
Having gone through my own mental health and how this can impact you in your personal and professional life, I wanted to make it my mission to support and empower others so that they do not have to go through the struggles and challenges that I did. I want to be able to give people the tools and strategies to help them which I did not have. My mission is to ‘Empower the life you desire-by helping you find and forge your path.’
PGMAG: As a wellness coach, what are the three keys to total wellness?
ZN: Living a life of wellbeing is more than just having a good diet and exercising. The optimal is being in harmony within these areas: physical, emotional, spiritual, social, intellectual, occupational, and environmental.
If I were to give my 3 key total wellbeing aspects, it would be: 1. Mindset- self- awareness & of others 2. Keep learning to grow 3. Nutrition, Sleep & Movement Within that I would add Connections & Helping Others
PGMAG: If you know what you know now, what would you do differently?
ZN: Ask for help, not care about what others think of me, stand up more for myself, I wouldn’t be afraid to show and share my value and worth.
PGMAG: What are the three books that changed your life?
ZN: The Secret by Rhonda Byrne- she explains with such simplicity the law that is governing all lives, and offers the knowledge of how to create intentionally and effortlessly a joyful life. It develops another way of thinking and seeing life.
Awaken the Giant Within by Tony Robbins- Talks about how we all have the power, the tools within us at our disposal. We just need to dig deeper to allow it to grow. His book enables us to reflect and evaluate how we have the power to control how we think, how we feel, and what we do. And that anything we want or desire in our life, we already have the power to achieve it.
The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett- This is such an inspiring story that is based on that anyone can change. That one shouldn't let dark thoughts hold you back, because they will only make you worse. With hope and determination, however, you can overcome anything.
PGMAG: What is your message for those who are struggling with depression? ZN: This is such a tricky subject that majority of the population shy away from because of the fear of not knowing what to say or because of simple ignorancethe stigma around it.
There are no magic words that will make someone feel better and it can be tough to know what to say to someone that is suffering. In my opinion and personal experiences, avoiding the subject is the worst tactic,
the worst thing you can do for that person. It breeds guilt within the sufferer and makes them feel like an outsider, which can end up pushing them further away.
You are not alone. I may not understand how you feel but you are not alone. Do you want to talk about it? I’m here when you’re ready.
Is there someone who you trust in, that you could talk to? There is support out there for you when you are ready. Sorry to hear that you are going through this. I’m here if you need me. Ask them: Can I help you in any way? Is there anything I can do? Do you want to talk?
For others to know and be aware of: • Let them know that you are there for them. • Listening to them is the key and not dismissing what they say. • Reassurance • Show empathy but do not be patronising • Let them know that there is support out there
*Educate yourself about depression-The more you know about depression, the better you will be able to empathise with your loved one and the more effective you will be in helping them to find the professional care that they need.
*Remember a smile and hug goes a long way too. PGMAG: What would you say to your younger self?
ZN: I would say: Don’t be afraid to ask for help because there will always be surprising people to help you along the way,and keep your eyes open to recognise them. I am worth so much, I’m beautiful as I am. Let my flaws and vulnerabilities shine to show my growth. Have more confidence in my own abilities, skills and knowledge, I am smart and intelligent
