vents: A selection from across the country

The members of the PPOC have been active across the country. Events were organized and offered at the branch, region or national level over the last year or so. Some events were online while others were in person. Our members got together to meet, network, share, socialize and learn from each other. Below are some images from just a few events that were hosted over the last year or so.

Do you have an idea for an event? Do you want to organize an event? It could be an online event or an in person skill or portfolio development idea. But the key is to get involved. When you get involved with the organization, it make us stronger, more interesting while allowing us to offer events and activities that are relevant to our members But you have no say without getting involved.

So, if you have an idea or want to help, reach out to your local, regional or national representatives and talk to them about it.

Members got together in Canmore, AB for the National Conference

In Ontario, the Tri-Branch hosted their annual Focal Point conference in Mississauga over two days with six speakers, a trade show and an awards dinner They also hosted a free event for about sixty people, including PPOC members and the public at the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum showcasing aviation photography June 25, 2023 - James Cowan, owner and operator of Canadian Raptor Conservancy in

Vitoria, Ontario, is catching a barn owl during the PPOC-ON TriBranch event for photographers to get their wildlife on.

In March, the Eastern Ontario BranchI hosted GTA Imaging at Diamondview Photography studios in Ottawa. Patricia of GTA came with product samples to show off to about 30 photographers of the Ottawa area , including many PPOC members It was great to meet so many fellow photographers and put some faces to names

The AB region held a social event at a brewery in Canmore with about forty attendees, a livezoomed studio session on lighting at Heather Fryer's Studio 91 in Edmonton In October, they held the annual ‘Light Matters’ event that had seven educational session as well as a industry round table over three days in Edmonton The Light Matters conference also featured a social event as well as the presentation of awards including the winners of Portrait Photographer of the Year, Wedding Photographer of the Year, and Photographer of the Year.

The Prairie Region (MB) had their Annual In-Person Educational and Recruiting Event"Spring In The City" The purpose is to advertise the benefits of the PPOC to the General Public and to do this, they held a one-day Speaker Presentation featuring PPOC members and sponsors at the studio of Cindy Duclos Selected topics this year included: 'The Business of Business Portraits' , 'Lighting Modifiers' , and 'Valuing Your Art' , as well as an image/awards exhibit.

PPOC BC has held several in person meet ups from our BC Fall Conference, to the Lower Mainland Winter & Summer Socials and recently gathering at Canadian Imaging in Canmore The Summer Social was held at Brewhall in Vancouver where members, visitors from other branches and some team members from Beau Photo who are generous with door prizes for our events, were able to catch up
