The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Khalid Abdul Ghaffar, announced the opening of the electronic application for the registration of capacity tests, from Tuesday, July 3 to Monday 23 of the same month, for the colleges that require admission to pass these tests, namely the faculties of Physical Education, (Helwan - Damietta Benha Beni Suef), Faculty of Music Education at Zamalek Helwan University, Faculty of Art Education at Zamalek Helwan University, Faculty of Art Education Minia University, Faculty of Fine Arts, Divisions artistic and musical education at the Faculty of Education in Ismailia, Suez Canal University, and the Division of Art Education, Faculty of Education at Suez University. Mr. Atta, head of the Ministry›s education sector and the general supervisor of the coordination, said that the concerned colleges are committed to holding the capacity examinations and that the results of the exams should be submitted directly to all the appropriate students of these tests after verifying the correct seating number and student›s name so that no errors occur. Electronic coordination of the names and data of students who passed these tests to be nominated on the basis of which the colleges are fully responsible for these results during the period of time allocated to that, it will not count any other results after the closure of the electronic coordination of the registration of the Lab tests in these unfit. Dr. Sherif Kandil of Alexandria University won the State Award for Basic Sciences, Dr. Desouki Ahmaden of the National Research Center, Dr. Hesham El Anany of Cairo Medicine, Dr. Alfet Jamil of Cairo Medicine and Dr. Amir Fouad Al-Atria of Cairo Engineering. Dr. Khalid Abdul Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, said that all successful students in this year›s high school will have places in universities and higher institutes, pointing out that there is no change in the rules of coordination of admission to universities and institutes, and that the submission will be through the Ministry›s website as is the case. Dr. Khalid Abdul Ghafar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, witnessed the signing of a protocol of cooperation between the Supreme Council of Universities and the American University of Ocean for the establishment of community colleges in Egyptian universities in the presence of Dr. Youssef Rashid, Acting Secretary of the Supreme Council of Universities and Dr. John Larson, President of the University of Ocean, at the Council›s headquarters. The protocol was signed by Dr. Youssef Rashid and Dr. John Larson from the American side, in the presence of Dr. Abdelwahab Ezzat, President of Ain Shams University, Dr. Hatem Aql, Vice President of Larson University for Distance Education and International Affairs, and Dr. Maysa Abu Yousif, Assistant Vice President of Larson University for International Affairs. And Dr. Hanan El Said the Director of Integrated e-Learning at Ain Shams University and project coordinator. Dr. Abdel-Ghaffar stressed the importance of the protocol, which sets a preliminary model for the establishment of community colleges in Egyptian universities, which together with the technological colleges are an important step in the development of technical education and the development of new programs to suit the community development plans and prepare a generation of qualified graduates to meet the needs of the labor market. He also pointed out that the protocol could later include a new course for non-high school graduates and technicians who wish to develop their skills by providing a training service for them. Dr. Mohamed Osman El-Khasht, President of Cairo University, said that Egypt under the leadership of President Al-Sisi is living a great development experience to complete the reform process and continue the giant national projects launched in the past periods and achieve security and safety. Universities pledge to achieve scientific renaissance

The criteria for selecting university leaders are vital to the development of university education through the development of creativity among faculty members and students in Egyptian universities. This helps in providing non-conventional solutions to our chronic problems and achieving sustainable human development. However, Dr. Jamal Sheha, Chairman of the Committee for Education and Scientific Research, The current university is not ideal at all. Each university president has before the start of the nomination process three members chosen from within the university and usually are loyal to him and thus ensures that their votes will be in his favor either abroad there are 4 members of the Supreme Council For the universities and these are their choices based on the principle of ÂŤShileni and AchilkÂť with the rest of the universities. Therefore, the Committee of Education and Scientific Research in the parliament is drafting a new law for the selection of university leaders through the formation of a Board of Trustees of each university of 21 members, including the President of the University is an ordinary member of the system in force in private universities and the role of the Board of Trustees to choose the new President of the University. Said that the new system will eliminate the shortcomings of the current unhealthy system in the selection of heads of public universities. After a period of decline, Egyptian universities succeeded in regaining their place in the world rankings of the best universities. The latest list of the World Ranking Center for Universities, an independent body based in the United Arab Emirates, revealed the inclusion of four Egyptian universities in the top 1,000 universities worldwide. Cairo University was able to improve its position in the world rankings by occupying the 452th position in the 2018 list of the best universities, compared with the 2017 list when it ranked 764th. The University of Ain Shams has once again returned to the list of the top 1,000 in the world, occupying the 715th position, compared with its previous status of only 1522. Mansoura University came in 884th place, and Alexandria University in the 903th place. In general, the United States ranked the top three on the list, where Harvard University was named the best university in the world, followed by Stanford and Massachusetts Institute of Technology, while Cambridge University and Oxford University ranked fourth and fifth respectively. 4 Egyptian universities in the list of the best globally

Najib Gabrail, Chairman of the Egyptian Federation for Human Rights and some of the organization›s leaders, met with Dr. Naji Mo›men, Dean of the Faculty of Law at Ain Shams University, to discuss the implications of the book «Humanitarian and Political Conflicts in the Status Thought and Heavenly Religions» In the college, which angered the Christians, where they considered what was said to be an insult to them and contempt for the Christian faith, which he described as corruption and suppression of desires. He stressed that the Faculty of Law has affirmed its full respect for the Christian faith and Christians and stressed that it will not accept any insult to the Christian religion or Muslims as partners in this country, as well as its decision to stop teaching the book and withdraw from the library immediately. Mohammed Al-Atribi, Chairman of Banque Misr, opened the Misr Bank branch of the Faculty of Commerce Ain Shams, in the presence of Dr. Abdelwahab Ezzat, President of Ain Shams University, Dr. Khaled Kadry, Dean of the Faculty of Commerce, Ain Shams University. The inauguration was attended by Adel Fawzi, Head of the Bank›s Sector and Branches Sector, Tarek Ali, Head of the Administrative and Engineering Affairs Sector at the Bank, and a number of public figures. In addition, the Banque Misr opened the branch of Ain Shams University after its development. The Bank›s network of branches reaches 621 branches throughout the country. The Bank has always provided the bank with all the latest equipment to ensure a superior level of service and time saving for the customer who finds all banking products and services available through the electronic link system between all branches of the bank. Banque Misr opens branch of Ain Shams commerce and targets 875 branches by 2022

President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi met on Tuesday with Prime Minister Sharif Ismail and Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Dr. Khaled Abdul Ghaffar. Ambassador Bassam Rady, Spokesman for the Presidency, said that the meeting dealt with the latest developments of the Ministry of Higher Education plan to develop the Egyptian universities system and establish new universities throughout the Republic. The minister explained that the plan is being implemented to expand universities and provide opportunities in higher education. The Ministry›s commitment to the application of international quality standards in the educational service provided, the establishment and development of study programs periodically according to the needs of the labor market, as well as laying the foundations and criteria for the formation of administrative structures and legal regulations, and the selection of university leadership. Dr. Khalid Abdul Ghaffar presented the executive position of a number of private universities such as King Salman University in Sharm El-Sheikh, King›s University and the Higher Academy of Sciences, Al-Alamain University for Science and Technology and Mansoura University. Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Khalid Abdel Ghaffar received on Sunday morning a number of investors concerned with the establishment of branches of foreign universities in the new administrative capital to discuss the latest developments on the law of foreign universities and the latest developments in the construction works in the universities› In the framework of the implementation of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research of the mandates of President Abdul Fattah al-Sisi President of the Republic of the file of the establishment of branches of foreign universities in the new administrative capital. During the meeting, Dr. Ghaffar stressed that the ministry gives high priority to the establishment of branches of foreign universities in Egypt, pointing out the seriousness of the Egyptian state in this direction and seeking to be a kiss for investment in the field of higher education in the region. Ain Shams University opens a new branch of Banque Misr at Faculty of Commerce

Annaba Jeremiah, Bishop of the Coptic Orthodox Church and head of the Coptic Orthodox Cultural Center, announced that the University of Ain Shams decided to stop teaching a book by Dr. Rabie Anwar Fateh al-Bab, a professor of constitutional and administrative law and former law professor, as it was insulting Christianity. Coptic activists have been accused of opening the door with contempt for religions because his book, which teaches graduate students, contained phrases that they considered as offensive to Christianity and the Church. On his Facebook page, Annaba Jeremiah posted a statement attributed to Dr. Fathi Mustafa El Sharkawy, Vice President of the University, referring to the appointment of the Dean of the Faculty of Law to form a committee to review the contents of the book, thanking the university administration for this step.

The Church praises the prohibition of teaching a book insulting Christianity in Ain Shams

The Board of Directors of the City of Scientific Research and Technological Applications held a meeting on Sunday under the chairmanship of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Dr. Khalid Abdul Ghaffar and attended by the Director of the City Dr. Maha Al-Damlawi and members of the Council at the Ministry›s headquarters. During the meeting, the minister stressed the keenness of the political leadership to support scientific research and benefit from research projects that are concerned with the priorities of the State Sustainable Development Plan 2030. He pointed out the need to obtain a return from the projects and the research innovations provided and turn them into products that serve the national economy, And the need to combine all research efforts to serve the needs of the State and meet them. The minister also stressed the need to encourage scientific research in universities, centers, institutes and research bodies and to maximize scientific research and its role in serving the society, especially after the issuance of the law on incentives for science, technology and innovation. Abdul Ghafar promised to quickly complete the executive regulations of the law, which is a new start for scientific research in Egypt, as it would make the most of the innovative ideas and the outputs of scientific research and converted into products already exist. The Council approved the restructuring of the Disciplinary Board for the members of the research committee headed by the Dean of the Institute of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology Research, Dr. Desouki Ahmed Abdel Halim. He also agreed to host the city to the Regional Center for New and Renewable Energy (MATS) of the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology.
