An idea, a thought, to collaborate many ideologies, to form a manifesto, which is distinct in its form, still forms a firm silhouette. Like two or more cells, combining to form a product, which is unpredictable, never desired of, and would eventually become the reason for the beginning of a legacy. Designer’s Note
“PERQUISITE” is my debut attempt to create a virtual collection of outfits inspired by the silhouettes of traditional Indian clothing with contemporary alterations. The reason it is called “Perquisite” is because it symbolises the right to dress express an individual's artistic self which should be termed beyond the limits of the society, their stereotypical thoughts related to clothing, gender and fashion in general. Creating bold statements by adding heavier colours, combined with the inclusion of traditional Indian fabrics and Western synthetic materials, Perquisite aims in breaking barriers of clothing and amalgamating two different styles of fashion. My position in creating this entourage of being the chief Fashion designer, creative director, editor, video choreography, and stylising, gave me the ability to control the creative authority of the project.
