Future Workspace “Pink Toilets is a Public-Private collaboration between Plan India, PVR NEST and Municipal Corporation of Delhi to increase women’s physical and economic mobility by creating safe and gender friendly public spaces, thereby increasing their participation in school, work, and public life.”

Future Workspace Site: Bhutani Alphathum Location: Tower B, 25th floor | Noida, sector 90 Bhutani Alphathum is a well-planned project that is ideally positioned in Sector 90, Noida. It is one of the fastest developing commercial project. Alphathum will be developed in 20 Lakh Square Feet of built-up area.

Project Overview: Arriving at space planning through zoning strategies, based on each space component derived earlier in your process Understanding workspace design systems like Proximity/Circulation/Services/Structural/Daylighting /Ventilation etc. Arriving at efficiency calculations as space ratio per person in a workspace Moving forward with 'qualitative' aspects of spatial design like Placemaking/Flexible and Robust design Understanding workspace design systems like Proximity/Circulation/Services/Structural/Daylighting /Ventilation etc. Moving forward with 'qualitative' aspects of spatial design like Placemaking/Flexible (shrink & expand)

Main partition

This partition aims to be sustainable and functional at the same time. The jute fabric used for the partition along with the wood serves aesthetics as well as purpose. The jute fabric can be used to put up displays. Three kind of partition are designed in a way that it can balance the area completely. One for door, one for main space partitioning and one filler partition. Mix of glass, jute fabric and wood with ceiling and flooring attached tracks is the core idea of my workspace design.

Designing one forth of the floor (1/4th) 158 mtr sq (1700 sq feet)

The plan included conference room, executive office, pantry, 2 HOD room ,reception and workstations. The space was a combination of sustainable partitions and modern furniture. The process of intervention included analysing the site and it's context, doing capacity testing and building up a space with suitable material and functionality. The space was supposed to be highly functional along with proper privacy, ventilation and lighting

Pink Toilet “Pink Toilets is a Public-Private collaboration between Plan India, PVR NEST and Municipal Corporation of Delhi to increase women’s physical and economic mobility by creating safe and gender friendly public spaces, thereby increasing their participation in school, work, and public life.”

PINK TOILET As stated by the Plan India organization, “Pink Toilets is a Public-Private collaboration between Plan India, PVR NEST and Municipal Corporation of Delhi to increase women’s physical and economic mobility by creating safe and gender friendly public spaces, thereby increasing their participation in school, work, and public life.” Going to the toilet is a basic human need. However, many people, in particular specifically women and girls, continue to suffer disproportionately from inadequate sanitation, and often cannot use a toilet when and where they need. Therefore, the aim is to create a female-friendly public toilet facility that is both comfortable and secure, including universal access to sanitation and emphasis to address in particular the needs of women and girls.

STAKEHOLDERS OF THE PROJECT

PROJECT BRIEF The Pink Toilet Initiative aims to uplift the living standards of the user group by giving them access to basic sanitation facilities. Creating a space that is not “just” a toilet but also a safe space for women who venture out of their homes.

SITE BRIEF

LOCATION

The site is an existing Pink Toilet in Saket, New Delhi. It covers an approximate area of 600sqft and the entrance faces towards the north direction. The site is covered in mosaic tiles on the exteriors and has ramps one for the entrance and the other for the disabled washroom. It has a courtyard-style typology which makes it different from the other Pink Toilets. The site also has heavy foot traffic during most hours of the day due to its location. The site has a sewer behind it, garbage disposal center on the left side and slums on right which bring the majority of users.

Talking about the context within the 200m radius; The site is very close to Malviya Nagar metro station as well as Saket G block bus stop and Anupam cinema bus stop. The site is also considered a prime location because of the large number of parks and schools available. The site is connected through the Press Enclave marg, Mehrauli Badarpur road, Saket mandir road, etc. There is also a police station, Anupam market and temples around the area.

ERGONOMIC

STUDY

PROPOSED PLAN

Tiny Space "Tiny houses are the focal point in a broader system to address problems of the current day. They offer a path to a smaller environmental footprint, greater financial freedom, and ultimately a self-sufficient life. The main objective of this movement is all about the philosophy of being content with having enough and creating a life brought back to the essence of that what is important. "

The site is a car garage in an existing residential colony of four-storey apartments. This specific car garage face towards the SOUTHEAST direction. This is a typical middle-class residential colony located in the NCR, where most residents are retired and have therefore chosen to convert their car garages into a PG (Paying Guest) accommodation. PGs are typically young professionals working in a city to which they do not belong and may also relocate from soon and therefore do not require a full-fledged apartment. Often two friends or young siblings rent such accommodation for economic reasons. The design task is therefore to create a comfortable and pleasant home away from “home”.

Repurposed Wood Table "The need to substantially reduce our impact on the planet must be translated into a significant change to our lifestyle and habits. One of these is to consume responsibly and consider that waste does not exist, but that all material can be transformed into something useful again following a circular ecological system.

This is a hanging table top where tension forces are used to keep the table upright and balanced instead of compression forces on standard legs. The end result is an object that seems to defy gravity and physics.

Residential FREELANCE + PRACTICE PROJECTS

"Creating a space which is functional and caters all interior design aspects is what in my opinion makes a good outcome.Home is a place where you spend most of your time which is why every corner of the house should be designed keeping functionality and comfort in mind."

Interior photography “To me, photography is an art of observation. It’s about finding something interesting in an ordinary place. I’ve found it has little to do with the things you see and everything to do with the way you see them.” - Elliott Erwitt
