Affordable Housing Scheme for All to Witness Strong Growth in India It is everyone’s dream to have a well designed beautiful home in life where a person can relax and feel pleasure, but everyone is not able to fulfill this dream due to lack of fund. Here, government is trying to provide assistance by launching affordable housing scheme for the people who are not able to build a home due to money related issues. The Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana is planned for all citizens of India; government is playing a big role in providing homes as scheme is designed for the welfare of society. Provisions Made Under PMAY For Haryana, provision of Rs 66.65 crore has been planned under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna for 2016-17. The scheme will take place in two phases. In the first phase nine districts, Faridabad, Karnal, Hisar, Rohtak, Yamuna nagar, Gurgaon, Sonipat, Panipat and Sirsa cities are included. The units will be built in 11 slum areas of Yamuna Nagar under Affordable Housing Scheme for low income group. Construction of 759 units have been approved at a cost of 22 crore. Arrangement of toilet, kitchen and bathroom has been made in all houses under the project. An amount, 3 lac would be spent on construction of each house in which 1.50 lac would be contributed by the government and remaining 50,000 would be paid by the beneficiary.


Homes built under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana 1.90 lakh homes will be built by Rajasthan government till August 2017 incurring cost of Rs 2400 cr. under 'Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana'(PMAY) and aimed at providing housing to all by 2022. According to a recent research it is found that 1.87 lakh homes are to be constructed in the first phase. 305 cities and towns have been selected in nine states and Rajasthan with 40 has the highest number of cities under PM awas yojna. Several welfare and financial assistance schemes will be provided by the government and expected project cost for Rajasthan is Rs. 6500 crore.

Approval for the construction of homes under Awas Yojana Recent news shows that government has approved 860 projects in July this year that involves construction of 7.28 lakh units under this scheme. Construction of 1,93,147 units, were approved for Andhra Pradesh, Telangana got approval for 64 projects, Ten projects, involving over 1 lakh houses were approved for Maharashtra. The highest numbers of 4,333 units were built in Karnataka, followed by Rajasthan (3,627), Tamil Nadu (2,595), Gujarat (2,160) and Uttar Pradesh (2,044). Beneficiaries listed for Awas Yojana Government will offer houses with an area of 320 sq. ft. for economically weak segments, built up area can be enhanced up to 640 sq. ft if the beneficiary wishes to bear some extra expense. The council has finalized its first list of 3,166 beneficiaries who have been selected by a division level committee.
