Consulate Activities January 2015: Sweden hosted a seminar on SymboCity at Vibrant Gujarat: Fredrika Ornbrant, Consul General of Sweden in Mumbai and Swedish authorities led by Mr. Micael Hagman, Deputy Director, Sustainable Urban Development Government offices of Sweden along with high level authorities from top Swedish companies like Ikea, Volvo, Ericsson, Envac and Scania conducted a seminar on Sustainability in Sweden. The seminar was led by led by Mr. Micael Hagman and the panel discussion was moderated by Ms Ornbrant. The event also saw a “Smart City” booth where the companies converged to provide smart city solutions to the audiences
February 2015: Swedish Food Security Delegation visited Mumbai : Swedish Food Delegation, led by Mr. Stig Orustfjord, Director General, National Food Agency Sweden visited Mumbai on18th February 2015, to share best practices in the fields of food security, supply chain management and ways to reduce wastage. The delegation consisted of companies like Tetrapak, Tempix, BillerudKorsnäs, DeLaval and Livsmedelsverket (Swedish National Food Agency). Later in the evening, Consul General Ms Fredrika Ornbrant hosted a networking dinner along with Business Sweden to conclude the delegation visit
February 2015: Journalist Program to Stockholm Design Week 2015 and Swedish Design: The Consulate General of Sweden in Mumbai sent a journalist to an all-expense paid journalist programme to Sweden to witness the Stockholm Design week. This resulted in a four page spread in Elle Décor magazine
February 2015: Media interaction with Express Travel World: Consul General Fredrika Ornbrant was interviewed by Express Travel World on Sweden as a travel destination and the increase in tourism to Sweden February 2015: Consul General participates in a panel discussion at Gรถteborg: The Consul General participated in a panel discussion on the Business Climate Survey, undertaken by the SCCI, where she highlighted business opportunities as well as challenges within her jurisdiction. Volvo, Business Sweden and India Sweden Business Council also participated in the discussion together with SCCI. Sara Larsson at the SCCI made a presentation of the study.
March 2015: Consulate General of Sweden hosted a networking dinner for Alumni of the Swedish Institute Management Programme: Consul General of Sweden in Mumbai Fredrika Ornbrant, hosted a networking dinner aimed at strengthening relations and business ties between India and Sweden by engaging with young Indian leaders who are alumni of the Swedish Institute Management Program (SIMP) and Swedish companies. The evening saw these young Indian leaders showcase their learnings which were a unique combination of theory and practice on how CSR relates to successful business in regards to strategies, innovation and production. April 2015: Consul General Fredrika Ornbrant addressed students admitted in Swedish universities for the year 2015-16: 10 Swedish universities in association with the Swedish Institute, Embassy of Sweden and Business Sweden conducted this seminar titled Destination Sweden Consul General Fredrika Ornbrant addressed the new admits to Swedish universities in a seminar conducted on 8th April 2015 at the Courtyard Marriott hotel in Mumbai, to introduce and orient them with various aspects of studying in Sweden April 2015: Maharashtra Chief Minister Mr. Devendra Fadnavis visits Sweden to participate in the Indo Swedish Forum and meet with Swedish companies: Maharashtra

Devendra Fadnavis, Consul General of Sweden in Mumbai Ms. Fredrika Ornbrant, Indian Ambassador to Sweden Ms. Banashri Bose Harrison and other delegates participated in Indo Swedish Forum in Stockholm to discuss trade investments. Mr. Fadnavis also met top officials of bus manufacturing company Volvo, Swedish engineering group Sandvik, Aerospace and defence company Saab as well as retail giant IKEA.
April 2015: Consul General makes courtesy visit to Swedish companies in Pune and Mumbai: Swedish companies have a significant presence in western India totalling to 57 with head offices in this region. Further segmentations of these companies reveal their locations include Mumbai - 23, Navi Mumbai – 5 and Thane – 1, Pune – 22, Ahmedabad - 2, Nagpur, Nashik and Goa one each. During the last four months, the Swedish CG visited and met with 82% of the companies in Pune and with 66% of the companies in Mumbai. April 2015: Business Climate Survey 2014/15 launch: Swedish Chamber of Commerce India in partnership with the Consulate General in Mumbai, Embassy of Sweden in New Delhi and Business Sweden, cond ucted a present ation and launched the 7th Business Climate Survey that brings to light the experience of doing business in India as perceived by the Swedish business community. It provides an insight to expectations and perceived risks for the future. It captures the input from 110 Swedish companies established in the country from sectors such as IT/Telecom, Automotive, Service sector, Engineering products, Defense, Direct Sales and Retail. April 2015: Regional Promotion Meeting: Consul Jan Campbell Westlind attended the regional promotional meeting geld in New Dewlhi from April 15 – 17. The meetings highlighted promotional activities conducted by various Swedish Embassies and Consulates based in Asian countries. Four different Swedish ministries presented their case studies in working in collaboration with local Swedish Embassies and Consulates in respective sectors.
