2025 Elite Genetics Hereford & Angus Bull Sale

ANIMAL NUTRITION

I have worked with RSK Farms for many year's providing nutritional consulting with their cow herd, replacement female program and their Bull Development Program. Bull Development is a high priority at RSK, ensuring the bulls are developed to the best of their ability without over doing it. Growth and performance, body condition, hair, structural soundness, and reproductive development, are some of the hi-lites we aim for when designing a bull program. We want to stay away from over condition bulls that break down, are not fertile, and just don’t get the job done. These bulls only cost you a lot of money! At RSK over the year's we have seen changes in their development process. From self feeders and hay feeders to incorporating higher quality forages and less grain. Chopped and piled silage, top quality hay, oats and a custom bull development product is the direction RSK uses to develop their bulls. We sample and test on farm ingredients using the nutritional values of the ingredients and then design the program with a custom Bull Development Product to meet the protein and energy requirements of the program. This program is designed and balanced using the Cargill Beef Max Ration Balancing Program. This product fills the nutritional gaps the ingredients have and we enhance the program balancing proteins, amino acids, energy, fiber levels, micro and macro minerals and vitamins. RSK also sees the value using Diamond V NaturSafe in this product to enhance gut health, immunity and a better absorption of nutrients. We know this helps with reproductive development for the bulls as well. The goal for the Bull Development Program to raise bulls in a safe and nutritionally sound environment that will provide optimum value from their customers and prospects in their sale.

LongRange® (eprinomectin) is also given as an injectable dewormer that delivers up to 150 days of parasite control in a single dose during the summer months. At the time of fall booster shots, Quiet Weans (yellow nose clips) are inserted into the calves noses to prevent nursing and are left in for 5 days. This proves to be very effective for a low stress weaning solution. FerAppease is also given at weaning time to alleviate stress. Strict emphasis is put on structural soundness, testicular development, do ability, performance, functionality and disposition!

Jess and I would like to thank our parents Rae and Stephanie, and Doug and Carolyn for all they do for us throughout the year. They are always there to help out and lend a hand. We would also like to thank Allie Lavich and Rhoda Evans for being a major part of the RSK-RAF family last year!

Welcome

Bulls, bulls, bulls. That’s the theme of this spring as we enjoy one of the hottest sale seasons in history to perfect coincide with the strongest market the cattle industry has ever seen on all classes of stock. It truly is rewarding to see the cow/calf people be rewarded for all their efforts and the patience and perseverance they have displayed while working in this great industry. That said, there truly is no better time to surround yourself with the highest quality bull power you can as we firmly believe that the bulls you use in 2025 very well could sire the highest paying set of calves you’ve ever produced. When it comes to using high quality Angus & Hereford bulls, you have come to the right place at the Elite Genetics Bull Sale hosted by RSK/Rideau. The Kopeechuk and Milne-Smith families are some of the real great people we get to work with and we are excited to welcome you to their 11th annual sale!

The 2025 sale bulls are as diverse as ever before with many calving ease and performance options in both breeds. The Angus bulls are anchored by a strong set of some by the Kid Rock 2080 bull who really stamped his progeny with look, hair and muscle shape. These Angus bulls are stout made, big bodied and ready to work. The Hereford bulls are the cowboys kind with awesome pedigrees, good pigment, and exceptional structure. These bulls are backed by cows that look impressive while making a living with a heavy emphasis focused on foot and udder quality and overall do-ability. We do encourage you to give Andrew or Jessy a call to discuss the offering and set up a time to tour the bull pen anytime prior to sale day. They are knowledgeable cow people that would love to visit with you about their program and passion for the cattle industry. If any of us listed from BMS can be of any assistance in your absentee bidding, buying and consultation, we would be happy to do so.

Best Regards,

Welcome to the 11th annual RSK RAF Elite Genetics Bull Sale! Jess and I are very excited and humbled to be hosting our annual bull sale.

As I’m writing this, we are coming out of a wicked cold snap that has affected not just us, but a big portion of Canada and the US. It has been tough on cattle, equipment and people, with very low temps, high winds and sleepless nights. I am a firm believer that the cup is always half full and that tough times create tough people. This is the same for the cows and bulls here. The cow herd and bull pen are built to handle tough times, they are rugged, strong and bred to succeed. As producers, I feel we are built the same way, but it is our love of what we do that drives us to move forward and endure. Watching this bull pen mature and grow has been one of the biggest rewards and having next year’s crop hitting the ground is the icing on the cake. We are also seeing record prices for cattle as national numbers continue to be low the demand will stay strong. Being commercial producers as well, we see the value in using Hereford and Angus bulls to fill market demand.

This year’s sale offering is a testament to the direction and the path that each breed has worked towards over the last ten plus years. It feels great to see our genetics go out and work and provide a positive ROI for our customers.

The depth and quality of this year’s offering is second to none and this year’s sale offers a diverse group of breeding tools. Balance 207H and Command 91H calves make up the main part of the RSK pen this year. Two Hereford bulls that will again play a big roll in the future here at RSK. Executive 4J is breeding tremendously well, proving to be easy calving with great growth and flawless structure. The first group of Kid Rock 2080 bulls will be featured. These guys are powerful and performance driven. Three very exciting Atlantis 8060 x Erica 74A brothers add an element of excitement and genetic opportunity!

We are continuously building, raising and acquiring new genetics to build the quality of the RSK and RAF programs. Our emphasis is on breeding well rounded, balanced offspring based on quality genetics that promote improved structure, muscle pattern and efficiency. We were able to acquire the lead off anchor bull of the 2025 NWSS Champion Hereford Carload, Harvie Exclusive 43M and look forward to using and promoting him.

Our bulls are raised on a high forage ration with a Cargill pelleted supplement in order to promote longevity and do-ability. Being in Manitoba you can be assured of the toughness and hardiness of our bulls. RSK-RAF prides itself on being progressive operations and breeders. We have made management and breeding selection decisions that are proving to increase productivity, quality, consistency, and profit in our product that will pass onto you, in your product.

Many of our customers are repeat and multiple buyers. This tells us that it’s not just a bull business, but also a people business. Our customers are pleased with the product, but more importantly happy with an honest, reputable and knowledgeable service. We love catching up with our customers as it provides us with feedback about our product as wells as assisting in improvements for breeding decisions. The customer is our main source of information and the continued support from our customers is what is keeping us in a business that we love.

All the sale information will be online including bidding with Liveauctions.tv, videos and pictures. Feel free to contact any RSK-RAF member for more assistance. We look forward to having you join us for the 11th Annual Bull Sale and can’t wait to visit with you on sale day!

RSK SCK 8Y Jury 25J was very similar and high seller for $15,500.00 to Paul Kress. A full brother is also working at Elm Lodge. This Balance son has great structure and flex, a beautiful sleek front end and an explosive hip dimension. He has a balanced and appealing look with a cherry red color pattern. Combine this all with a tremendous EPD profile, a 104 WW index and 102 YW index, make this heifer bull a performance package as well! Heifer approved.

Resilience 17M is a fault free rugged individual. The depth and spring of rib this guy has is great and while keeping good dimension of quarter. Use Resilience on your cow herd to add pounds and performance to your calves, this is what we expect Command sons to do. Short market and red necked, his progeny will be your favorite and the commercial market will reward you.

“We purchased RSK 7165 Bankroll ET 64K from RSK Farms out of the RSK RAF Elite Genetics Bull Sale 2023. We used him on our 2 & 3 year old commercial, Black Angus Influenced cows. He has been hitting them out of the park, all with the chrome and an average 75 lbs birth weight to top it all off. You can buy from RSK with confidence!”

Memphis 64M is a well-made, appealing bull. I liked this guy right from the beginning. He is balanced quite nice, attractive and still maintains great shape in a stunning moderate size. He’s dark cherry red and has the pigment that everyone loves.

68M might be the softest biggest middled bull in this offering. His soggy appearance and overall mass draws you in to take another look at him. Personally I love these features. He's extremely well balanced with a big foot under him. Super deep sided and smooth shouldered with a really nice big foot underneath him. Backed by our Liberty Belle cow family on his dam side known for their style, balance and calving ease. Only 81lbs BW this guy could work on both heifers and mature females.

TESTIMONIAL

“First Class is 6 yrs old this spring and we're still using him very heavily! He just finished another fall breeding season and still looks the same as ever; soggy, easy doing and thick made. We cannot say enough about how happy we are with all his offspring! We now have a young herdsire who is out of him, LDW 79K, and his calves born this spring have all hit the ground with FULL pigment. Each and every one of them. First Class is a tremendous bull who stamps all his offspring with power and pigment! He will leave a lasting legacy in our herd for many, many years to come!”

A bull that is very complete and balanced in his makeup, deep sided and one we really like through his hip and the way he carries that mass down in his quarter. 56M is the more moderate and smoother made one of the three, extremely balanced and very correct, just an exceptional individual. 58M would be your more performance type of the three being a tick heavier at birth and maintaining that heaviness ever since. He's got a little more frame and length then his brothers, yet still gives you that nice silhouette in a performance package. We still are not sure which one we like the best, on sale day you decide and take a piece of Erica 74A home to add to your program!

TESTIMONIAL

“We have purchased both females and bulls from RSK and Rideau over a number of years. When I toured the bull pen last spring I was extremely impressed with the mobility and functionality of the group of bulls. Backed by some of the leading genetics in both breeds we were able to acquire bulls that fit our budget and exceeded expectations. We appreciate all the work they continue to do for the juniors and giving back to the industry.”

They are both so correct, with big middles yet still possess enough masculinity and shape for calving ease bulls. 10M comes off of our Lady Jet cow family line whose mother is an Insight first calf heifer who just did an exceptional job raising this one. Her maternal brother was selected in last year’s sale as one of our high sellers to Freyburn Angus and has calves on the ground already this spring for them.

This second Trademark son is super soggy middle with a great hind leg and just gives you that Angus silhouette we strive for. The 43M bull comes off our Remitall Nancy cow family. His young Atlantis dam was one of the first ones in production and has one of the most beautiful udders we have seen. If you are looking to add calving ease and maternal to your program both 10M and 43M will do just that.

The first set of bulls to sell off of our own herdsire Rideau James Patrick 64J, his calves are calving ease packed with shape and loads of style. This first son is just a very unique breeding piece. Only a young March calf, he has no issues keeping up with the bigger bulls in the pen. His design is flawless, big rib and middle on this calf with a great hind leg and bone. When you get in behind him he doesn't disappoint you with the amount of quarter and testicles, but the best part is he can really get out and move. The dam of 108M is one of my favorite females around here, purchased as a calf from the Angus Collection Sale out of the W Sunrise program, she has done nothing but impress us. A full sister to this bull just calved and she is everything you would look for in a young two year old.

TESTIMONIAL

“I have used both the Hereford bulls from RSK Farms and the Black Angus bulls from Rideau Angus Farm in past years. Both Andrew and Jessy were very helpful in trying to make my bull selection easy. Both my Hereford bull and Black bull worked out very well at our place. I used the RAF bull on my Hereford heifers and have had nothing but good luck with the calving ease they said he would bring to my program. The after sales service was second to none with a few friendly calls between ourselves a couple times a summer. Andrew just wanted to make sure everything was going ok. I will be looking for another heifer bull soon and will be looking to RSK Farms/Rideau Angus Farms to provide one.

Thanks RSK and Rideau!

These 64J bulls have really impressed us this year. They come easy with a lot of vigor and boy when crossed on these Growth Fund first calf heifers it really gives them the extra WW and YW we were looking for. Both of these bulls will work great on heifers adding some shape to your calves yet still remaining calving ease sires.

Just a March Executive bull who gives you the look! He's super correct and long yet has tremendous top and quarter in him for a calf his age. Another very maternal calving ease bull, if you are wanting to retain daughters take a look at this guy.
