ARCHITECTURE PORTFOLIO YEAR 2022

CURICULUM VITAE Hey, myself Prajwal , from Brindavan College of Architecture, Bangalore, Karnataka, currently a 9th semester architectural student in the five year undergraduate program. As someone with an extroverted personality, I am a fast learner who is patient and flexible. Seeing the importance of being a good team player, I believe in the old saying “One for all, and all for one”. From organising events to leading an editorial design team, I have expanded my management and teamwork skills. Ethics play an extremely important role in my life as I am a person who likes to believe that there is good in everyone, and that everyone deserves a chance to reach their highest potential. Architecture has equipped me with a variety of skills in building and design.

Yelahanka old town has mixed community and there are also immigrants. The reason to cause immigration is presence of railway station. Due to urbanization, all farmers and owners have sold their land, majority of which land is rented for immigrants to stay. Railway station is situated in between Yelahanka old town and new town, it acts as a connecting node due to which a TOD project can be proposed which helps in better connection between old town and new town people and communities. There is opportunity for trade and business, due to presence of railway station and also bus stop. There is also weekly santhe which is been happening since very long. Weekly market and street hawking invite people from surrounding village farmers to sell their goods form farm and other sources. Kogilu cross is the major place for weekly market and also it falls on highway, so a space for business and trade can be proposed which helps in organization and better circulation of the surroundings. Yelahanka old town is still rich in culture and traditions, it had lot of temples and all the festivals are

“Every touching experience is multi-sensory; qualities of matter, space, and scale are measured equally by the eye, ear, nose, skin, tongue, skeleton, and muscle.” ~Juhani Pallasmaa

Here in this project the form of the building replicates the basic form of connection, the form can be related to connecting hands , connecting hook, connection in nature etc..

Form Development

The energy exchange that takes place between humans and places creates a dialogue that is then narrated and hence deepens the connection by developing an intimate moment. Yes, that’s the kind of bond architecture creates with the human mind. So the building and the project help in connecting old town and new town together. Since it will fall in centre of both old town and new town, there is exhibition areas provided for people passing by to give them knowledge about rich cultural and history of Yelahanka old town.

The wind pattern near large bodies of water is generated by the heat gain, heat loss, and heat storage variations between land and water. Water will have more stable temperatures. The wind is usually moving toward the land during the day when the land is heating up faster than the water and when the water is absorbing solar heat. At night the direction is reversed, with the breezes flowing from the land, as it cools, to the water, as it radiates stored heat to the night sky
