Parliamentary Affairs Minister


The Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs is an Indian government ministry.


It handles affairs relating to the Parliament, and works as a link between the two chambers.


The Minister of Parliamentary Affairs holds cabinet rank as a member of the Council of Ministers.


The Parliamentary Ministry is dedicated for the implementation of the Policies, Plans and Programmes in respect of services provided by the Members of the Parliament to the Public more efficiently and effectively.


Our current parliamentary affairs minister has always aimed at providing equal service to all the Members of the Parliament, regardless to the background of their political philosophy, religious background, ethnicity and other differences.


Following are some of the functions of the department : On Parliamentary Affairs, it only renders secretarial assistance to the Cabinet Committee. It constitutes consultative committees of members of Parliament and makes arrangements for holding their meetings, both during and between sessions. It is the sole responsibility to make other ministries for prompt and proper implementation of assurances given by ministers in the Parliament. Sets dates for summoning and prorogation of the two houses of Parliament: dissolution of Lok Sabha, President's Address to Parliament.


The Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs checks the progress of the newly implemented bills until it is being authorized by both the Parliament Houses.


It also gives guidelines to the consultative committees in regards to the working method of the individuals.
