The site is located in the central zone of Banglore.The site houses the Mayo Hall Civil Court and Utility Building. It is a strong landmark of the site. The site brings in a lot of civilians as it is close to the MG Road metro station and Mayo Hall Bus Stop. 8

The concept taken forward is to go high-rise and help resolve a lot of issues. Courthouses in the current day scenario face issues like overcrowding, poorly ventilated spaces, and lack of natural light in the courts. The high-rise option resolves these issues to a certain extent. The project also stands out and portrays a strong character by the verticality achieved. 10
The neighbouring context is fairly commercial and this project emerges to be distinctive in terms of the program and as a mass. Thereby opening up the foreground for extensive public interaction and movement.

‘Restrict the hassle to the ground’
The building as a whole is divid ed into two masses. The pedestal and the high-rise. The pedestal houses the public and the law yer functions. The high-ris e mass houses the courtrooms. The courtrooms require a formal setting for conducting a trial and are hence placed away from the lawyer and public functions.

The site houses the BSNL Telephone house located in Banglore. It is a historic landmark located in the heart of the city amidst very iconic buildings in close vicinity. Prime hotspots incl ude Cubbon Park, Vidhan Soudha, and High Court. 24
