Pratik Ranka,Industrial design graduate from MIT institute of design. As a person i like to live life to the fullest and have no regrets.. I like to understand how people think and like to understand the reasons behind their actions as well as mine. For me design is problem solving.I look at a problem from many different angles and views and solve a problem in the most simplest way i can see.Good design should be a win win scenario. Currently i am looking for a permanent Job. I aim to get experience in the industry and have an understanding of how things work in the design world and get a chance to contribute with the help of my design abilities,skill sets, creativity and practicallity.

Packaging Brief-package chai masala for the high income group
the holes aloow half a tea spoon of chai masala to come out evry two times you shake.
O-Five O-five is a refridgerator designed for an ideal housewife.The refridgerator has optimal use of its space,It is easier to clean,it is very user friendly, it is designed in such a way so as to reduce the energy input and is ergonomical is different aspects and most importantly all these attributes make the refridgerator stress free.

Rotating shelves for easy access of vessels kept behind.
Bottle shelf-grooves for other bottles and inbuilt rectangular bottles for water reducing the space used. Each bottle carries two litres of water.
Crispers on the door to increase space usage . Liquids are removed from the door. the crispers can be removed and carried to the cooking station. The vegetables and fruits are to be put so as to put the maximum used on the top in descending order.
chiti Objective-Industrial design has a significant role to improve the quality of human life in society by providing innovative ideas and solutions towards product and product systems improvements. However, in India with a human population of more than a billion people there are large sections of society lying with some or the other type of disability Industrial designers have the capability to make significant contributions to make towards the betterment of these often neglected “differently able� persons.
chiti Brief-to design a device or system so as to reduce the effort required to lift the wheat sacs therby redusing injuries.Chiti is designed in such a way that the effort put in by the labourers is minimum.
The initial conceot was to create a separate loading/unloading space for the wheat sacks and a special trolley for the area.
In this concept no seperate loading area required. The foot space has increased length and amgle to reduce the effort required to lift the bags.
Nature and Form Objective -To regard Nature as vast information resource and to gain learning and insights from it. To study the elements of a natural object its environment and understanding of the principles and functionalities resulting in the ultimate form acquired in its : (Geometry, Interrelationships with other elements, Purpose, function, Integration, Structure, Textures, Growth and growth patterns, Color etc) Understanding of the relationships between form and purpose (function) and do develop an ability to conceptualize advanced 3D forms.

Internship project brief- to design a centre table for a 2 bhk flat for a middle income group family. Client requirements were to have seating and open oe close storage. Factors taken into consideration-the client did not want a dining table, educated proffesionls,they have 2 sons 14 and 18 and excess material left. to be made after completion of floor work.

Pouffes can be removed and used ,Reduces space wastege. Inclined aurface is given so it can be used as a back support when sitting down.
The inclined surface is removed due to saftey issues.
The table sixe is made bigger and an open storage option is given with two pouffes .Size changed on client request.
Internship The centre table made on site. The centre table is made keeping in mind the surrounding interiors .
Diploma project The diploma project was taken with Durian ndustries Ltd.The brief was to design a modular sectional sofa which is to be launched in the new range of designed sofa.I designed 14 different peices for the sofa to make more than 200 combinations to suit the users needs .I also supervised the whole process of making the first piece in the R&D department.The design is approved and going into production.
