Reverence

Reverence Once you decide to have faith in God and Jesus, you are expected to be faithful to God and Jesus, continually showing your faith by your actions, thoughts, and words. After you have confessed that Jesus Christ is Your Lord, God expects you to keep your word, by honoring your agreement to Him to be faithful. Many Christians claim to follow God, but their words and actions are far from the faith that they have professed. Ask God to order your life, and order each day, in a manner that is pleasing to Him. Take every thought captive to Christ, and be careful with every word that proceeds out of your mouth. God is watching everything you do, think, and say. “For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.” “This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.” Matthew 12:37, 15:8. Many Christians do not actively, or regularly, partake of God’s Word because they are afraid of God’s Word exposing their heart. “For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.” Hebrews 4:12-13. You must allow God’s Word to correct and teach you. Reverence begins by you acknowledging God’s Holiness and Sovereignty. When you worship God, you are declaring that you honor Him, and that you believe God to be who He Said He Is. A dangerous sin is placing someone or something before God as an idol in your life. They become your god, and you deny The True God the reverence and honor, that you had professed to always give to Him. “I am the LORD: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images.” Isaiah 42:8. “Thou shalt have no other gods before me.” Exodus 20:3. Reverence is a lifestyle that confirms your faith in God. Do not make the mistake of trying to approach The Almighty God in an improper manner. You approach God with humility, reverence, worship, honor, and a pure and contrite heart, once your sins are forgiven and washed through Jesus Christ’s Blood Sacrifice. Having a lifestyle of faith honors God. You are to be an Ambassador of Jesus Christ to the world, by your words and actions. People will examine you, and look to see if you really live what you profess to believe. Reverence, prayer, and Bible study are keys to living a faithful life that pleases God. Forgive yourself and others. “After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.” Matthew 6:9-13. As you honor, acknowledge and reverence God, you will focus on God, not on self. You may freely distribute this writing.!
