Late Night Lobbying
HAMILTON’S NEW HANGOUT
Lobby: a room providing a space out of which one or more other rooms or corridors lead, typically one near the entrance of a public building. "They went into the lobby.”
Toronto’s hotel lobby-inspired restaurant and late-night lounge, Lobby, now has a second location in Hamilton. Through the doors and past the concierge desk, Lobby awaits you. Located at the busy corner of James Street and Augusta Street, the restaurant and bar aims to become the destination for culinary and late-night experiences.
Partners Reza Abedi and Abdallah Chanaa have drawn inspiration from hotel lobbies worldwide to create the concept of an enchanting atmosphere and vibrant entertainment, including dancers, live performers, and DJs, to deliver an unforgettable experience.
Whether you go for the food and beverage or late-night music and dancing, guests will thrive in the energy of the space, designed by Solid Design. Experiential elements include a spacious bar, a moody dining area, faux greenery that graces the ceiling, a reservable private room, and just in time for patio season, a 2,500-square-foot outdoor space is set to open soon.
The city was an easy choice for the pair to bring forth their concept. “We’ve always loved Hamilton, and we thought it would make sense with the concept so when the opportunity of the space came to us, we jumped on it,” Abedi says. “We’ve both been interested as far back as we can remember,” says Abedi. “Hospitality is such a fast-paced industry, that lets you be creative, and we thrive in it.”
Lobby will offer a dining experience with an Americana menu. “The menu will be updated seasonally; most of the items will stay, but we do make adjustments every few months,” says Chanaa.
The concise menu has everything from salads and oysters to impressive cuts of beef, chicken and pasta dishes, as well as seafood. Speaking of seafood, try the Seafood Tower, with chilled and poached seasonal fish and shellfish with fresh lemon and dips.
Offering Lobby’s infamous Sunday brunches with bottomless mimosas and epic brunch entrees, guests will come for the food and stay for the party. Playing once again on the sharable boards, brunch hasn’t been excluded.
Among the Benedicts, frittatas and breakfast sandwich options, there’s the signature Lobby Brunch Tower, with three layers of mid-morning goodness, blueberry pancakes, croquettes, scrambled eggs and turkey sausage, followed by a middle tier of eggs Florentine, smoked salmon and avocado bagels, honey and orange labneh and granola, topped with seasonal fruit.
Lobby’s Mixology Director, Jake Dolgy, has curated an inventive beverage program showcasing eight signature cocktails, including the popular Lobby espresso martini, alongside a timeless selection of classic cocktails, beer, wine and bottle service. Bottle service goes beyond the traditional, with four different packages, including the Meet Me In The Lobby, and Expensive Taste.
Lobby has vibrant late-night programming almost every night, open at 5 p.m. and lasting until “well after midnight,” says Chanaa. Sunday Brunch begins at 11 a.m. “We describe Lobby as a permanent vacation,” says Abedi, “inspired by some of our favourite sunny side hotels around the world. We want the space to transport you.”
