Beaufort possesses an oldworld, southern charm and is steeped in maritime history and adventure brought by its proximity to the Atlantic Ocean.
Take a cruise down the waterways, pick up treasures at the local community market and take a double-decker bus tour of the historic district and explore the grounds of Beaufort Historic Site, complete with the Carteret County Jail built in 1829 and the Apothecary Shop and Doctor’s Office dating back to 1857.
