Introduction

The
Heroes
Take a peek into the lives of individuals, the ones working behind the scenes, who play an instrumental role in Premier’s various initiatives.
B
ehind the large machine that is Premier Ltd., what has remained constant are our values and endeavours to strive for excellence. There are a number of cogs that ensure that the Company’s wheels run smoothly. With this in mind, in this issue, we bring to you updates about our projects and celebrate those individuals who are the backbone of these initiatives — the ones who ensure that projects are completed in an easy and hassle-free manner. Read about Premier’s CSR activities on page 4 which would not have been complete if it were not for a few individuals who held the torch and led the way: those incredible individuals who should be lauded for their unrelenting generosity and have contributed in a large way to help better society with initiatives such as the Grameen Visit, the Book Donation Drive and Premier’s initiative with CHIP, all adding to the Company’s value. We continue our alliance with College of Engineering, Pune (CoEP) this year. We take great pride in the fact that year upon year we have been instrumental in securing stable futures, not just for underprivileged students, but for the future of our great nation. We bring you, Dr. B.B. Ahuja, an indispensable asset to CoEP. Read more about it on page 4. Like him, one of WKH PRVW VLJQLŰFDQW HPSOR\HHV DW 3UHPLHU LV WKH HIIHUYHVFHQW Mr. Prashant Ganpatrao Salunkhe, who has been a front runner in our initiative to eradicate hunger in remote villages in Satara. Read about this initiative on page 8. But Premier wouldn’t be a forerunner if it weren’t for the brainwork and labour of all our employees. Meet Mr. Suhas

Jadhav, one of the key designers of our new CNC Gear Hobbing Machine called the PHA 1200 on page 10 and Mr. Bhushan Damle, who was an integral part of our international advancement with our association with Sandvik Asia Pvt. Ltd. on page 12. From internship mentors, to generating interest in machines for young minds, managing a wide network of dealerships, organising training camps and a plethora of community outreach programmes, name LW DQG \RX ZLOO ŰQG D 3UHPLHU HPSOR\HH ZKR WKURXJK KLV RU her tenacity has made it happen. All this over and above their day-to-day jobs. This is what truly sets us apart and we want to tell you their stories. And it’s not just our employees who are driven to excel behind the scenes; day after day, month after month, several teams contribute to our programmes in the Company. On pages 6 and 7, read about our NGO partners and the team members who collaborate with us. Our theatre community projects get more and more fame thanks to the tireless efforts of Mr. Abhishek Kawitkar and Mr. Ashok Kulkarni. But if you think they are all old timers, think again – Mr. Kinshuk Basu Chowdhary, a CoEP student, made our MindSpark stall come to life when he mobilised more than 800 students to participate in our interactive engagements. Read his story on page 16. With each issue of Premier Today, we bring you updates on our social media. In this issue, we introduce you to our recently upgraded website and the team who made it possible on page 17.

This year, it a was not only a set-up to impart information about the Company but also to engage students in engineering quizzes and interactive sessions, where they won Premier goodies and gift coupons. Premier’s main point of contact was Mr. Kinshuk Basu Chowdhary, the Finance Head for the college festival. The main theme this year was ‘Technology for the Masses’. Premier’s contribution came in the form of three main events — Contraption, a CNC Lathe Workshop and the Premier Challenge. This year, the Premier challenge gave students the opportunity to brainstorm on a practical alternative for Premier’s new CNC gear shaping machine, the PHA 1200.

Premier Today, Editorial and Design team.
Online Makeover Premier’s website gets a new look. With companies leaning more towards electronic media as an outreach mechanism to the public, it is imperative to keep abreast with new technology and social media platforms to provide easy access to detail information. After all, the only constant in life is change. With this in mind, Premier Ltd. revamped their website www.premier.co.in.
Making the right moves Mr. Viraf Hansotia, Head, Online Media – Spenta Multimedia, played a key role in the revamp process. A man whose passion and profession lies in the digital space, Mr. Hansotia, along with Premier’s Corporate Communication team has been the driving force behind this change. His love for technology and the growing dot com era were two main factors which motivated him to take up this profession. “The main goal was to improve the user experience,” says Mr. Hansotia.
The Four-front
“Teamwork is the ability to work together toward a common vision. The ability to direct individual accomplishments toward organisational objectives. It is the fuel that allows common people to attain uncommon results.” These famous words by Andrew Carnegie, American Industrialist and Philanthropist holds true when it comes to the Premier family. And this has been the experience of the editorial team at Spenta Multimedia, and the work done on Premier Today. The Spenta editorial tream has played an integral role in the Premier story. From co-ordinating with the Company's Corporate Communications team, to bringing out the essence of Premier's updates and achievements in the form of a quarterly journal, the team strives to showcase the core values of the organisation.
