Global Factory Automation Firm Establishes Irish Operation FANUC has hired two new Sales Managers as its first on-theground employees in Ireland. The global robotics and factory automation specialist, with 27 subsidiary operations across Europe, is establishing a dedicated presence in the Irish market to support existing and future customer installations. Headquartered in Japan, and having recently celebrated the production of its 750,000th industrial robot,

FANUC’s Irish customers have traditionally been supported by the company’s UK operation. However, the appointment of Conor O’Kelly and Ronan Rasdale as Sales Managers for its Irish business unit is the first step in a major commitment to proactively grow FANUC’s footprint in Ireland. Conor O’Kelly joins FANUC with 15 years of experience in industrial automation, serving a host of multinational manufacturers based in

Ireland with systems integration firm, Crest Solutions / CXV Global. Ronan Rasdale joins from specialist robotics distributors Reliance Automation, having previously worked for a provider of enterprise automation and 3D vision systems. Both will be responsible for promoting FANUC’s extensive range of industrial and collaborative robots, alongside its system-build capabilities to manufacturers across a broad spectrum of industrial and educational sectors.

Future of manufacturing in Ireland Conor O’Kelly comments: “This investment, and our future plans for FANUC’s Irish operation, is a vote of confidence in the future of

manufacturing in Ireland by the world’s leading factory automation company. Ireland has earned its

reputation as a world-class location for R&D and manufacturing of medical devices, pharmaceuticals, aerospace and precision technologies; but we do lag behind equivalent-sized countries when measured by investment in robotics and automation. Having global leaders of the quality of FANUC on the ground in Ireland supporting manufacturing operations is key to the next stage in Ireland’s industrial growth, which will be predominantly driven by automation.” Ronan Rasdale adds: “FANUC is unique in its ability to provide every element of an industrial automation system, powered by

PANEL: FANUC Corporation – A global leader in factory automation

the world’s broadest range of industrial and collaborative robots. The provision of intelligent addons including integrated vision systems and off-line programming software from a single source offers an easy win for prospective customers. No automation provider is better placed than FANUC to aid competitiveness and help overcome the barriers brought about by COVID-19. I look forward to developing relationships among the manufacturing and systems integration community here in Ireland.”

For more information, please visit: www.fanuc.eu.

With almost 60 years of experience in the development of computer numerical control equipment, more than 27.5 million products installed worldwide and more than 8,000 employees, FANUC Corporation of Japan is one of the leading global manufacturers of factory automation. FANUC’s product range encompasses industrial robots, CNC systems, wire cut EDM, injection moulding machines and vertical machining centres. FANUC City is situated at the foot of Mount Fuji, near Lake Yamanaka. Covering 1.7 million square metres, it is home to all FANUC’s unique production facilities. It also includes 12 research and development centres, administration buildings, staff accommodation, leisure facilities and even a clinic for FANUC employees and their families. FANUC operates the most automated production facility in the industry. Consequently, the company clearly understand the needs of its customers – supplying them with tried and tested products that they can rely on.

Outstanding product quality FANUC is the only company in its sector which develops and manufactures every single major component, both hardware and software, in-house. This means that customers benefit from superior functional reliability – and highest productivity guaranteed. All FANUC products are engineered to optimise energy usage through intelligent energy management. Throughout the entire production process, FANUC’s goal is to be as friendly to the environment as possible.

European Business FANUC’s European subsidiary - FANUC Europe Corporation - is headquartered in Echternach, Luxembourg. From this central location it provides a full range of services to its 27 European subsidiaries, including European Sales and Service, Product Support, Supply Chain, Parts and Repairs, as well as Marketing, Human Resources, IT and Administrative Support. Founded in 2012, FANUC Europe Corporation employs more than 250 staff members in Echternach and a further 1700 across Europe.

Our supply chain solutions help you achieve agility, visibility, and traceability across your connected supply chain. From the packaging line and the warehouse through to the store, we help you enable faster and more accurate process execution with real-time insight and control at your fingertips. Contact Zetes and discuss how you can maximise efficiency and agility through a balancing of process optimizations and new technologies.

AUTONOMOUS MOBILE ROBOTS (AMR)

ZETESMEDEA VOICE SOLUTION

AMRs can bring you major benefits including the ability to process orders faster, increase efficiency, and reduce material handling costs across your organisation.

Discover how your warehouse can achieve 99.9% picking accuracy and gain benefits like a 10% decrease in warehouse costs and a 25% increase in overall productivity.

VISUAL SORT ASSIST Visual Sort Assist (VSA) combines scanning technology and projection to speed up the process of sorting parcels on a conveyor belt. It is an ideal way to increase your sorting capacity using your existing workforce without the need to increase the size of your facilities or invest in full automation. One of the great advantages of VSA is its efficiency. Thanks to the system's accuracy and automated identification of parcels, your staff only handle the packages they need to, rather than sorting through each and every item that passes them.
