Plumeria is one of the most popular plants and flowers in South Asia and especially Vietnam where it is called “HOA SỨ” or “HOA ĐẠI”. It is named in honor of the seventeenth-century French botanist Charles Plumier, who traveled to the New World documenting many plant and animal. Plumeria is associated with the feminine, ruled by Venus, its element is water, its deity is Buddha, its power is love and is a common ingredient in love spells. The Plumeria is the national tree of Laos, where it is called dok jampa. It is regarded as a sacred tree in Laos and every Buddhist temple in that country has them planted in their courtyards. In India Plumeria is a symbol of immortality because of its ability to produce leaves and flowers even after it has been lifted out of the soil. It is often planted near temples and graveyards, where the fresh flowers fall daily upon the tombs. In Vietnam Plumeria is used for its healing qualities: the bark, mashed in alcohol, prevents skin inflammation, it is also used to treat indigestion and high blood pressure, while the roots have purgative effects on animals and the milk-like sap serves as a balm for skin diseases. The white flowers are used in traditional medicine to cure high blood pressure, haemophilia, cough, dysentery and fever. Nothing evokes that tropical feeling quite like the Plumeria. To protect the privacy of our guests while using the Spa, we must limit the number of people we tour through our facility.
Spa Appointments
Please consult our Plumeria Spa receptionist for assistance in selecting the treatments that fulfill your requirements. To ensure availability, advanced reservations are highly recommended. To make your appointment, in-house guests can either call Plumeria Spa by pressing Spa hot key on your room telephone or visiting us in person. Plumeria Spa is open daily from 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m.
Customer Requests
You may request a specific gender Massage Therapist while booking an appointment. We cannot guarantee that we will have your request available at all times. All Spa employees are trained to respect the privacy of our guests and to create a comfortable, relaxing environment for all.
What To Wear During A Treatment
It is recommended during a body treatment or massage that those treatments are enjoyed with disposable undergarments. Professional draping is performed throughout the duration of the service for privacy. We request that all guests take a shower prior to arrival. We will provide robes and slippers for your convenience.
Health Matter and Comfort Level
Please notify our Receptionist before booking treatments if you are pregnant, have allergies, high blood pressure, any physical ailments, or disabilities. This will prepare our staff far in advance to provide the best possible spa treatment or therapy for you. When receiving your treatment, the Technician will address your needs based on your personal assessment. They will speak to you about the temperature, pressure, music, product, and sequence of service they are providing. You may also communicate to us how you are feeling during your service, and if there is anything specific you would like us to address, please inform the Technician.
Spa Etiquette Guide Guest Timeliness
We ask that you arrive 15 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment time. Arriving late will possibly interfere with your treatment, making it not as effective or therapeutic for you. All appointments will end at their scheduled time so that the next guest will not be delayed. Treatment times are not extended based on late arrivals.
Cancellation Policy
Please notify the Spa two hours prior to your appointment time if you need to cancel or reschedule. If we do not receive a call, you will be charged 100% full payment for services not cancelled in the time allotted. Services and prices are subject to change. A credit card is required at the time of booking.
Spa Use and Admission
Spa services are available to guests age 16 and older. There are specific treatments offered in the Beauty Salon for those younger.
Spa Payment Inquiries
if you have posted a credit card to your room, this will allow you to charge services to your room. Any additional guests using Plumeria Spa must be added to your room as a “share with� in order to charge to your room account. We accept all major credit cards, cash and gift cards purchased through the resort. Gift cards may be purchased at the Plumeria Spa reception desk.
