tarting from humble beginnings as a modest shell and bead shop along Dampier Terrace back in the ‘80s, Anastasia’s of Broome has boomed and blossomed into the impressive family jewellers it is today, thanks to owners Peter and Jill Hansen’s vision for excellence. Now located on Carnarvon Street, Jill’s expert eye has led to the creation of top pieces of jewellery, worn by stars at the Oscars to homemakers with exceptional taste. “We are not just another pearl shop,” says Peter. “We focus very much on stocking unique and bespoke jewellery hand-crafted here in Broome or WA as well as an extensive range of quality European designs. We are also continuing to expand our watch range and will soon have an iconic Australian brand, Adina.” Peter says the new range will perfectly suit the sometimes wild conditions of the Kimberley.
“Our exquisite range of South Sea pearls are sourced by Jill, who has had over 25 years experience in the pearling industry, having experienced most aspects of this unique industry. “There is probably no one more qualified who is working as a sales person in Broome,” says Peter. As a family-owned and operated business, Jill and Peter have bought their own unique flair to the Anastasia’s brand and have introduced into Broome their own internationally trademarked “Lust” pearl jewellery. It’s jewellery that has caught the eye of the A-list, with some items worn at the Oscars, having sold into the USA market for the last 15 years.
