10AM // WADJEMUP MUSEUM
The history of Rottnest dates back much further than Willem de Vlamingh’s visit in 1696. For thousands of years, Wadjemup has been of great spiritual importance to the area’s Aboriginal people. Discover the evolution of the island and reflect on its purpose as a place of incarceration for Aboriginal men and boys following colonial settlement.
11AM // CULTURAL TOUR
Deepen your understanding of Wadjemup’s past and present through Go Cultural Aboriginal Tours and Experiences. Take part in traditional sand and smoke ceremonies, listen to ancient Dreamtime stories, and learn about the traditional song and language of Noongar people.
NOTE: Tours run Wednesdays and every second Saturday. Bookings on other days may involve private rates.
1PM // CAPTAIN HUSSEY TRAIN
After a quick lunch in the main settlement, climb aboard the Captain Hussey Train for an enjoyable, scenic and informative journey through the island’s south side. Departing from the station in the main settlement, the 64-seat train passes iconic and historical landmarks on Rottnest Island.
2PM // OLIVER HILL
Hop off the train at Oliver Hill for the hourly Oliver Hill Gun & Tunnel tour (last tour at 2pm), taking you through Rottnest’s role in WWII. Knowledgeable guides are on hand to lead you through the stories of the restored 9.2-inch guns and maze of underground tunnels on the island.
6PM // DINNER
Load up on classic Italian fare in a beautiful beachside setting at Isola Bar e Cibo. Sophisticated cocktails and gorgeous wines will wash down fresh pasta dishes and seafood cooked over a charcoal fire grill as you look out over beautiful Thomson Bay.

9AM // SNORKEL TOUR
Plunge into the invigorating, aqua water and marvel at a rainbow of marine life on a three-hour Rottnest Snorkel Experience Tour. Climb on board the 10m boat at Thomson Bay for an insightful cruise as your friendly, knowledgeable guides share a few stories and insights. They’ll have picked out two perfect snorkelling sites and you’ll get to spend 45 minutes in the water at each one.
Alternatively, rent your gear at Pedal & Flipper and go on your own snorkel expedition around the island’s many beaches and bays.
2PM // THRILL RIDE BOAT TOUR
Following lunch, kick things up a notch with a Rottnest Express Thrill Boat Ride, taking you on a high-speed 45-minute tour of the island. See the spectacular coastline from a new perspective with the wind whipping through your hair.
4PM // BAYS & BEACHES
Take a more relaxing approach to the afternoon after so much activity and check out one of the 63 stunning beaches or 20 bays on the island. Which is the best? You’ll get a different answer from everyone, but some highlights to start with are The Basin, Little Parakeet Bay, Little Salmon Bay and Geordie Bay.
6PM // DINNER
Gaze out at dusky pink skies splashed across the horizon at sunset from Pinky’s Beach Club. Overlooking Pinky Beach, renowned for the best evening vistas, enjoy incredible local seafood with a fusion of flavours from both Asia and Northern Italy.
In the distance from Pinky’s Beach Club, you can spy the towering Bathurst Lighthouse.
