may actually stay calm but can be angry inside. Tardiness will be a turn off for most guys. They would love girls who cook but not necessarily the best food. They tend to look for their mom’s traits in their girl.
What Guys Look For in Girls -Mark McCordBoys are not really looking for attractive girls. They look for girls they will be proud to show to their families. Some guys don’t really prefer fashionable girls; they favor those who are smart and simple. They like to be constantly communicating with their girl of interest. They don’t like girls who are late. They
All guys love a girl who is themselves and who isn't trying to be someone else. We hate it when girls are affected by something that is really insignificant and that changes them for the worse. Being down-to-earth usually goes hand in hand with confidence because if a girl is down-to-earth, they usually don't care about what people think about them and that's a perfect recipe for a guy magnet. It doesn't matter if a female is intelligent, witty or funny. If she's unsure of herself, it will show in her stance, her
2
expression and her actions. All guys LOVE a confident female. We all know that females are the superior of the two races. Females are better at multitasking, at conflict resolution and at arguing a case through successfully. Guys will eventually understand what you say, but you may have to explain it to them in simpler terms, or repeat it a few times for them to process. A patient female will be a patient mother and wife who is truly spectacular and will be loved by all. I know you girls all wish we'd just get you enough to figure it out on our own but the truth is guys aren't great at reading subtle hints. So just tell your guy what you want — it will make your life easier, and he will be a lot less confused.
Guys want you to be honest when it comes to important things, like whether you're dating him exclusively or how far you want to go physically. But when it comes to personal things that could be sore spots, like thinking his best friend is hot or hating his mom's cooking, he'd prefer that you tell a little white lie. Stupid as it may seem, guys get worked up about things like video games and sports. The best girlfriends realize that these things really mean something to guys and affect us on an emotional level. Think about how psyched you get when you score a great bag at a killer sale. And it's nice to have a girl who'll cheer right along with us, whether or not she really cares what just happened.
Young PeoPle And HiP-HoP dreAms Young people love hip-hop. The quick rhymes over syncopated beats have always been a part of the soundtrack of our lives. This is why it is hard to imagine the days when, according to my mother, HipHop did not exist. Throughout all of its changes from the days of break dancing to the age of bling, one thing remains consistent: Hip-hop culture has always been criticized. While much of this criticism is justified due to the violence and the objectification of women that rap music often promotes, some of the more socially conscious poets of the genre express the reality of many of America’s youth.
3
A man by the name of George Bernard Shaw once stated, “Without art, the crudeness of reality would make the world unbearable.” Art allows you to escape from your reality, while at the same time it forces others to face it, and hiphop has been both a physical and mental escape for many inner-city youth. As a multi-million dollar industry, Hip-hop has also become a way to a better life—one far away from overcrowded housing developments, violence, and poverty. Unfortunately, only a few will ever obtain the success that the music industry often affords. Obtaining our college degrees is our equivalent of a multimillion dollar recording deal. Just as many critics of hip-hop have
doubted its success, many will probably doubt ours as youth. We should intend to prove them wrong. Hip-hop is now a global phenomenon that has given a voice to many who once had no forum. Me personally, my ultimate goal is to help others tell their story. Whether I become an international journalist like Christiane Amanpour, I will stay committed to speaking my truth. What do you want to do? I do not agree with everything in hip-hop because I know that there is much more to life,
and I enjoy other cultures and genres of music. Even so, I doubt that I will ever lose interest. I hope hip-hop continues to welcome change and progression. I want hip-hop to reflect the true voice of an important segment of America. When hip-hop reflects the harsh realities of inner cities across America, it is a storm of sadness and despair, but when it reflects the ability to overcome hardship, it is the rainbow after the storm that provides a bit of hope. WE should not give up until we have found our pot of gold.
