Our program for 2009 – 2010 is up and running. We have an exciting calendar of classes, workshops and activities planned for the year. As 12th graders I know your school calendars are filled and we are happy that you have chosen to allow us space to guide you onto the next chapter of your life. Getting ready for life after high school can be quite challenging, after all it is the super bowl of the past 12 years of preparation. Students must now market themselves to colleges of their choice in a neat little package containing GPA, class rank and SAT or ACT score. But other factors are also important; extracurricular activities, letters of recommendation and personal essay.

For FAFSA assistance call a case manager for an appointment or consult the program calendar for workshop dates. General Assembly held every 1st Monday of the month is mandatory. If you cannot attend please remember to submit in writing the reason for your intended absence.

PFS program staff is trained and ready to assist you with every step. SAT Prep classes have been the primary focus since beginning in September.

It’s a great time to reflect on all that is going well. I am happy to say that students are excelling academically and socially by participation in the various after-school activities we have offered. This success is due in a large part to you. Your active participation in your child’s school life keeps them moving forward during challenging times, instead of giving up. Besides this newsletter we have also started

accounts on MySpace, Facebook and Twitter as a way to give immediate updates on program

Because I didn't know how to fly And like a fool I didn’t realize I was just a pawn in their game So I should’ve asked why I should’ve wanted to know I should’ve doubted what they said Because I didn't want to do any of that stuff anyway. Gabrielle
