VIBRANT. SIMPLISTIC. PASSIONATE. WE HOPE THE BAUHAUS THEME REPRESENTS EVERY “FEELING” OF YOUR 2022. WHILST WE WOULD HAVE LOVED TO CREATE AN ENTIRE YEARBOOK DEDICATED TO TAYLOR SWIFT, WE DECIDED THAT A FUN AND COLOURFUL ART DECO THEME WOULD ENCAPSULATE HOW FULL OF ZEST AND LIVELINESS THIS YEAR HAS BEEN!

Our vision for the 2022 Kookaburra was to create a complete set of memories that all of us can carry beyond school. For us and the rest of the Year 12s, it marks the ending of our high school journey, whilst celebrating the joys of being part of the PLC community. For younger students, we hope it feels like the Kookaburra has been put together by every single one of you, not just us or the staff. We hope that every student, whether they be starting their journey at PLC or ending it, can open to a page and feel engaged within the energy of the community. Whether it is the arts, sport, community service or acts of wellbeing, we hope that this year’s publication shows off all your amazing achievements throughout the year. It has been a privilege to see students across the Junior and Senior Schools engage in different disciplines and activities that give them joy. We hope that you can look through all the pages and see yourself in an activity that you enjoyed, or feel inspired to learn that new instrument, try out for that team, audition for the new production, or challenge yourself to help your local community. This publication would simply not be possible without the endless support that we have received from staff along the way. We would like to thank Miss Gemma Freel for her constant guidance and wisdom throughout this entire process, she has truly been the backbone to this year’s publication. We would also like to thank the entire Communication and Engagement team for all the crucial work they do behind the scenes. This Kookaburra would so not be full of colour and pictures if it weren’t for them! Kookaburra has taught us the importance of backup, cloud space, and technology. We hope your feeling of 22 will never break down. And finally, to Taylor Swift’s biggest fans, the gorgeous class of 2022: This year has simply been out of our “wildest dreams,” and we hope that this year’s Kookaburra will never go out of style ;)
