Brian wanted to be a scientist, like his parents and like some of the characters in his new novel, but I am awfully glad he decided to become an author! He is also a very accomplished classical pianist, which explains why he writes so well about music in this indelible portrait of a very American family. Share your thoughts with Paul pslovak@prh.com
