This is a project about layout and template organization. While brainstorming the idea, I decided to choose something that was occult & strange. I understand the risks that come along with broadcasting the idea of conspiracy theories. The consequences could be that people will think I’m a fanatic or that I’ve completely lost my mind.

I would like to confirm that I have not lost my mind. I don’t really think that Hollywood is force-fed LSD as means of government psychological programming. Just rereading that sentence makes me question my life decisions that got me here. It’s a wild possibility to imagine though.

My interest in this topic stems from my desire to have faith in something larger than myself. I want to believe that there is intelligent creation behind the people that influence pop culture history.

While the sway that celebrities have on an American citizen’s daily decisions could be considered minimal, I would argue that the subconscious effect is major. Pop culture influences how people interact with one another. An example would be that celebrities show us through movies, music videos or Instagram what the trendiest styles are. They show us what the brands they love, and in turn, we care about those brands too.

When a celebrity endorses a product, that company will often see a spike in sales, suggesting that a popular face has the power to make the masses buy. The reach of celebrities is a money-making tool. If MK Ultra mind control was a reality, it would be profitable to use the mind control as means to retain the asset of a celebrity’s endorsement.

My interpretation of this theory this: if mysterious men in black have control of celebrities via MK Ultra, these “men in black” could thus have notable control over how the general population will spend their money. They can likely be very successful at selling any product … or any idea.

This is all why I chose this topic. Conspiracy theories make me feel creative. They help critical thinking because of their need to connect everything together. I know that not every project will allow this type of freedom in topics, so this is the time to work with it while I can.

I hope that you enjoy the content & the design of this book.
