Raymond Briggs’ festive fantasy brought to life by a live orchestra and soloists from the Cathedral Choir. LINCOLN THURSDAY 17th NOVEMBER FESTIVE LIGHTS SWITCH-ON

The City of Lincoln’s Civic Party will invite a few special guests to turn on this year’s festive lights and kick-start Christmas. Mother and daughter duo Kerry Katona and Lilly McFadden will launch the city’s festive celebrations with entertainment from 4.30pm on Friday, plus a procession from 6.35pm and a switch-on from 6.50pm. Also in attendance will be ‘Cinderella,’ from New Theatre Royal’s Christmas panto. n At St Marks Shopping Centre.

LINCOLN FRIDAY 9th NOVEMBER CAROL CONCERT AND SUPPER

Canwick’s International Bomber Command Centre Carol Concert and Supper is the perfect place to kick off the festive season. Join the team for carols, delicious hot supper, home made mince pies and mulled wine. Live music will be performed by the IBCC Choir and Orchestra, and guest artists. LINCOLN SUNDAY 11th DECEMBER SANTA FUN RUN & WALK

Now in its 17th year, Lincoln BIG’s Santa Fun Run & Walk is returning this December. The event will be taking place on Sunday 11th December this year and is a great opportunity to make lasting memories with the local community. Join a sea of red Santas on a choice of 2km or 4km run, and raise money for local and national charities. There are 2,000 places available this year. Funds raised at this year’s fun run will go towards supporting and creating grants for local charities and good causes. n Sunday 11th December, at Bailgate in Uphill Lincoln. Tickets to Christmas at the National Trust’s beautiful Belton House near Grantham are now on sale for its spectacular seasonal trail, which returns on 24th November...

A NEW ROUTE and light installations await friends and family visiting the festive trail at the National Trust’s beautiful Belton House near Grantham, which returns between 24th November 2022 and 1st January 2023. New for 2022, is a sprawling artistic illumination named The Rose Garden. Thousands of handmade roses crafted using petals of white silk look pretty in daylight, however, once darkness falls the animated colour-changing lights burst into dazzling patterns. Visitors will also discover the nautically inspired Voyage. Look out across the pond and see a flotilla of oversized origami ‘paper boats’ afloat on the water. Relive childhood memories and embrace the festive season when admiring these colourful lights and their watery reflections. Independent street food vendors bring a delicious twist to the event with tasty treats on offer. Complete your walk under the stars with a spiced winter warmer or hot chocolate shared with friends and family. There are toasting marshmallows and artisan food stalls to give visitors the chance to warm up and enjoy this sweet outdoor tradition.
