Welcome Dear Applicant, Thank you for your interest in becoming the Site Manager at Springfield Community Primary School. I hope you will find the enclosed information a useful introduction to our school. Springfield is a thriving, successful community primary school situated on the border of Hackney and Haringey. Our motto is learn together, grow together and our ethos is reflected in everything we do. We come from a wide range of ethnic backgrounds and there are many different languages spoken in our homes. At Springfield we celebrate this diversity in every aspect of school life. Judged Outstanding by Ofsted, we have continued to develop innovative practice and, year on year, improve outcomes for pupils. The school is part of a federation of schools called Primary Advantage who share best practice and skills and prioritise the development of our staff. We are looking for a skilled and passionate person who is continually seeking to improve their own practice. Our new Site Manager will join a hard working and driven team who are committed to improving outcomes for all pupils and ensuring that they experience a rich and creative curriculum which prepares them well for the future. About Us Springfield is a Community Primary School in the London Borough of Hackney. We are close to the borough of Haringey and make regular use of local facilities, which include Springfield Park and Tottenham Marshes. We also have our own Forest School and encourage outdoor learning.

We have recently developed links with a school in Trinidad and our teachers have visited Madrid to develop their Spanish speaking skills further.

Rights Respecting School We have worked with our local community to achieve the UNICEF Rights Respecting Level 2 Award and promote the Rights of the Child within our community.

ESOL We believe that the most successful education takes place when parents/carers and staff work together. We promote parental engagement and run ESOL classes and regular workshops for parents. We encourage parents to volunteer in classes.

Job Description JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for the property and school grounds and assisting in the management of the school. Liaising daily with the Headteacher on caretaking and site management issues. Maintaining any machinery or plant within the school. SITE MANAGER MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: MANAGEMENT & SUPERVISION Ensure contractors or directly employed cleaners perform to the standard laid down in the cleaning specification. The Site Manager will report to the Headteacher on any failure to meet the required cleaning standards. Deal with enquiries from staff and pupils. Induction and training of other caretaking staff and cleaners to ensure they are conversant with the duties and standards of work expected of them.
