NHC PARTNERS WITH MORE BANKS MAKING HOME OWNERSHIP MORE EASIER

$20 MILLION LOAN AGREEMENT
On 28th August 2015, we witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and Service Level Agreement (SLA) between National Housing Corporation (NHC) and 4 banks; Diamond Trust Bank, Equity Bank, First National Bank and International Commercial Bank, bringing the number of banks NHC partners with to avail mortgage loans to NHC clients to 16. This historic event was held at Hyatt Regency, The Kilimanjaro and was officiated by the NHC Acting Director General, Felix Maagi. The corporation is already in partnership with 12 other banks, which are; Azania Bank, Bank of Africa, Bank ABC, Commercial Bank of Africa, CRDB Bank, Dar es Salaam Community Bank, Exim Bank, KCB Bank, National Bank of Commerce, NIC Bank, National Microfinance Bank and Stanbic Bank. Among NHC projects currently on sale include Commercial, retail and apartments at Morocco Square and Kawe as well as residential units at Mwongozo in Kigamboni all in Dar es Salaam
The bank has signed a USD 20 million loan agreement with Germany’s private enterprise lender, Deutsche Investitions und Enttwicklungsgesellschaft MBH (DEG) to support Tanzania’s small and medium-sized enterprises. The money inform of a senior loan will be disbursed in two traches based on the progressive growth and lending assistance to the SMEs, according to the Tanzanian bank’s financial officer Mr Selemani Ponda. “The Senior Loan assistance comes at an opportune time when the economy continues to remain buoyant and businesses are graduating to the next rung of the ladder – small players looking to be there in the ‘medium’ category. The timing is just right for the bank to participate for the required impetus to the sector,” said Mr. Ponda through his statement issued to the media.
