I

am a people watcher. Everywhere I go, I have a strange compulsion to observe not only my surroundings, but also what is going on around me.

Being with my family for Valentine, I had the opportunity to dine at an elegant buffets, which allowed for a fair amount of people watching. I made many observations that were startling, appalling, and downright baffling. There seems to be something about dining at an all-you-can-eat buffet that brings out the true colors of people. Here are a few tips on how to behave at a buffet: If at all possible, do a preliminary scouting of the buffet to plan your meal and make the best choices. Make a plan in your head on how you want to eat. As you go up to get food, talk to yourself (not out loud!) about what would be the healthy choices or convince yourself that some really bad choice doesn't look all that good. The most important part of the process - MINI TASTING PORTIONS. Make a couple of trips to get your tasting portions. As you taste, decide if the item really merits getting more. If you get a tasting portion and hate the food, don't feel like you have to finish it. When you identify the really, really great items, go back and get a little bigger portion to enjoy it. When moving on to the dessert items, decide wisely!

LOCAL RECIPE of The week - Pilau

T

his is a series to provide the recipe of one local Tanzanian dish every week. For this week, we have my all-time favorite Pilau. Pilau is a dish in which rice is cooked in a seasoned broth. In some cases, the rice may also attain its brown color by being stirred with pieces of cooked onion, as well as a mix of spices. Depending on the local cuisine, it may also contain meat, fish, vegetables, pasta, and dried fruits.

Ingredients for two servings:

1 cup Basmati rice, 2 tbsp olive oil, ¼ cup Onions, 1 tbsp Crushed garlic, 1 tbsp Crushed fresh ginger, 1 and 1/2 tbsp Pilau-masala, 2 to 3 cups Chicken broth (boiling) optional, 1/2 cup Coconut milk (canned) and salt.

Procedure

We supply fresh vegetables, fruits & more food items to home / Office's door steps.

Classification of Dance

What to Wear Wherever You Go.

P

erfecting an outfit so that you get it right each time will require some forethought about comfort, suitability and what looks best on you. Once you've worked out these things, you'll be able to apply the method from this point on.

A. Planning ahead ◊ Think about the event before the day or evening it happens. ◊ Consider your trusted confidantes such as friends, a spouse, your children, etc. ◊ Check the chosen clothes beforehand.

D

ance is popular all over the world. People enjoy expressing themselves through movement. The word "dance" conjures up different images for different people. There are many fun types of dance, you may need to sample a few to find your favorite.

Broadway Broadway is essentially musical theatre.

Contemporary It’s a mixture of Modern Dance and Classical Ballet.

Hip Hop

Ballroom We have Salsa, Argentine Tango, Viennese Waltz, Samba, Paso Doble, Rumba, Foxtrot, Jive, Cha-cha and the dreaded Quickstep.

Bollywood Bollywood is a group style of dance that originates in India. It is usually performed to up-tempo songs and requires great stamina and strength (particularly in the legs).

Hip hop is a street style that has been represented on the show in all its many forms.

Jazz While there are many forms of Jazz, the style originated from two ethnic roots - the African American vernacular dance as well as traditional Caribbean dance.

B. Choosing the clothing ◊ Choose according to season. If it is cold, wear warmer clothing, if it is hot, wear cooler clothing. ◊ Choose by style. It might be fashionable, but does it fit and look great on you? If not, don't force yourself into it. ◊ Make sure all of your clothing fits nicely. ◊ Consider comfort. ◊ Prefer simplicity over all else. ◊ Wear minimal make-up if you're going all out with the clothes and more attentiongrabbing makeup if your clothing is simpler (e.g.: red lipstick and eyeliner). ◊ Own it. If you show up in a place and realize you're dressed completely wrong, own it.

If you drink alcohol, it's important to know how to drink responsibly and to stay within your alcohol tolerance level. • Drink with a group of friends. Don't drink with people who encourage binge drinking or look down on you for not drinking, or for not "keeping up" and drinking a lot. You should be comfortable to drink at your own pace. • Create a "buddy system" with at least one of your friends. • Know your limits • Know how you're getting home. • Never drive drunk. • Drink when you're of legal age. • Don't drink if you're not in a positive frame of mind. • Don't drink on an empty stomach. • Check with your doctor to see if you can mix your prescription medications with alcohol. • Don't drink if you haven't had much sleep.

75% of Tanzania Rural Electrification Program Second Phase Completed

T

With love in the air, everyone is looking forward to a beautiful gift from their loved one. But sometimes the people we love present us with clutter. Below are few tips to help your spouse to join organizing efforts without too much hustle. 1.Purge the judgment and toss the guilt; For both partners to achieve organizing they should remember that being disorganized is neither personality imperfection nor a matter of right Vs wrong but it is effective Vs ineffective. Making people feel guilt about their clutter does not help and could easily hurt their self-esteem and the loving bond you share. Create a guilt free environment in which both getting organized and being organized can be seen as beneficial and easy. 2.Categorize the purpose and start speaking the same language; Move forward by making sure you start from the same place and you both understand what it means to be organized and why it’s important to get organized. Discuss how some new skills and systems will help the family save money, time and how it causes you anxiety. Let your beloved know that you don’t see the time spent organizing as the goal per se but a way to get to the goal of having more personal quality time. Show your spouse the way organization (at home, at work and for events and activities) can reduce stress and increase productivity To be continued... he Tanzanian government has recently announced that approximately 5,900 out of 15,920 villages have been connected with electricity to the national grid as part of the Rural Electrification Densification Program which seeks to stimulate economic growth, improve households’ income earnings and raise quality of life among the villages’ population. The announcement was done by Tanzania’s Energy and Minerals Minister, Prof. Sospeter Muhongo, whom in a recent meeting with lawmakers explained that the project is being implemented in three phases with the first one 100% completed, the second one at a completion rate of 75% according to schedule and the third phase to take off soon.

was undertook the country’s budget was reduced to address funds to the general election process.

The project is aligned with Tanzania’s government targets and REA’s mission to promote and facilitate availability of affordable modern energy services in rural areas of Tanzania mainland through the concept of densification, which consists on the extension of connections in areas that are close to an existing grid. Tanzania expects to considerably raise the current 21% access to electricity in rural areas; The second phase has not been however, a specific target percentage and due dates have not been implemented at a faster rate due to released yet as the Rural Energy Master Plan is still in preparation lack of funds since last year when it phase.

Total Invests in Solar Energy in Tanzania Total Energy Ventures (TEV), the venture capital fund of France-based Total S.A. (FP:EPA), has recently acquired stakes in California and Arusha based Off-Grid Electric (OGE) and California based Power hive to expand its renewable energy business line in Tanzania. The stake’s acquisition seeks to boost OGE’s development of solar home systems and battery storages to power LED lights, mobile chargers and small electronic appliances that are currently providing light to 10,000 new customers each month with the aim to reach the 1 million customers by 2017. On the other hand, it also seeks to boost Power hive’s development of operation of solar micro-grids with battery storage and local distribution systems that supply electricity to hundreds of homes in off-grid rural communities in Tanzania and Kenya. Tanzania is closely working with international private investors and develop partners to boost its power capacity from the current installed 1,754 MW to 2,780 MW by end of 2016 with the usage of clean energy projects according to the US Agency for International Development (USAID). This is why initiatives as the Off-Grid Energy Challenge are being promoted to encourage entrepreneurs in renewable energy to support access to power to rural communities by the implementation of solar-powered minigrids and home solar systems. Total is planning to invest USD 500 million a year to expand its business line of biofuels and solar power generation to tap the fast growing renewable market in Tanzania and other countries in East Africa.

Travel & Holiday Lake Manyara

Selous Game Reserve

T

he Selous Game Reserve is Africa's largest game reserve and one of our favourite wildlife viewing areas located in southern Tanzania and far from the madding crowds,. It really is a hidden gem! The rivers and lakes of the Selous are the lifeblood of a park that hosts some fabulous game, including elephant, wild dog, buffalo, hippo, crocodile and fantastic prides of lion.

L

ake Manyara is best used as a soft introduction to a safari. While the scenic beauty of this park certainly makes it worth a visit, the game viewing here pales into insignificance when compared with that on offer in Tarangire, the Ngorongoro and the Serengeti. Famous for its tree-climbing lions, flamingos, breathtaking scenery and the soda-ash lake in the centre, Manyara merits a day trip but not much longer. Lake Manyara is a lovely scenic park on the road from Arusha to the Ngorongoro Crater, famous for its tree climbing lions, good elephants and baboons. The lake itself takes up

much of the park, leaving a strip of land running along its shores where game concentrates. According to the regional migration pattern, Manyara's official peak season is from July to October. However for such a small park this should not be a deciding factor; if you are in the area and have time, Lake Manyara is consistently good as a soft game viewing park at any time of the year. The main activity for visitors to Lake Manyara is day time game driving, although the park has recently started to offer night safaris and the camps deep inside the park offer short walks.

Standard daytime game drives are just the beginning. The Selous also offers some of the finest boating safaris in Africa, along with some of the very best walking operations on the continent, including in particular at Siwandu, Beho Beho and Sand Rivers Selous. Selous is a classic dry season park, with the game getting progressively better the later in the season you travel.

Things to pack for a Safari Packing for a safari can be a challenge because of the weight restrictions that small charter aircraft place on your bags. Below is a list of ten things you have to pack. 1. Lightweight down jacket or sweater with stuff sack 2. Crushable safari hat with cord 3. Clothes you can leave behind 4. Spare pair of sunglasses 5. Extra contact lenses and eye drops 6. Wet Wipes 7. Plastic Zip-Loc bag for journal & ballpoint pen 8. Extra camera batteries and memory cards 9. Consider taking a Polaroid camera 10. Dramatic Eyes

You love the way some ladies have made up their eyes and create that dramatic, dark look? Here’s how you can do it! 1. Take either liquid eyeliner or a pencil and line the inner lids with black eyeliner (even the corners). 2. Put black eyeliner on the top lid, thicker than the bottom and also make the inner corner of the eye pointed. 3. Do the Cat eye, make sure you have the outer corner of your eyeliner angled out farther and curved slightly upward. The Smokey eye, make sure you do this with eyeshadow!… The seductive eye, make a small upward angle.

The Amazing Power of Eye Contact The power of eye contact is so remarkable that it can make someone fall in love. Eye contact is a powerful stimulator of love and affection. If you want to make someone fall in love with you, one of the first things you should do is to look into their eyes. It is also important that your eyes are warm and passionate. For instance, looking in the empty fish eyes is no fun! Your eyes will look more attractive if the pupils are wide. It gets wider when you look at something you like, or when you think of something pleasant in a way that you almost see it. So, here is the trick: first, look at something you like the most in your lover’s face, and then look into their eyes. Alternatively, you can think about how much you adore him and how happy you are to be around; your pupils will enlarge. Eye contact is a scientifically proved way of making person fall in love with you. Try it yourself and you will see the difference. Just remember to go slowly. Look in their eyes when speaking and listening; you will be engaging psychological phenomenon without being obvious.
