Weekend Experience & Events TINY MOMENTS THAT INSTANTLY BOOST YOUR HAPPINESS
BABY SHOWER A new baby is the best excuse ever for a party. Whether you're the host or the guest of honor, you'll love the tips and advice we offer in our complete baby shower guide. The role of baby shower hostess has evolved and can include pretty much anyone in the expectant mom's life, including friends, relatives, and even spouses. But there are party-planning basics to ensure that the celebration is a success. We checked with event planners for a step-by-step guide to hosting a fun and festive party. •Choosing a Baby Shower Location. Consider what the mom to be would appreciate most? At home, at a restaurant, at the office, at a destination. •Have a Baby Shower Theme. Before getting to work creating invites and decorations, it helps if you can organize these around a theme.
L
•Inviting and invitations. If you’re sending out invitations, consider the chosen theme and what the mom-to-be like in terms of design and wording. ife is in the little things. It’s time to tap into your everyday joy. Big moments in life weddings, births, new jobs, and graduations are special, but appreciating the smaller, daily occurrences can really maintain your happiness. These are some tiny, joyful moments that never fail to lift everyone’s mood.
• When your boss gives you a genuine compliment. • Taking a warm shower. • An upbeat and interesting conversation with a stranger. • When the weather is perfect. • Finding a parking space in a crowded lot. Thank you, driving gods. • When your favorite artist comes out with new music. • Finding money in your pocket. • When you finally get some peace and quiet. • Crawling into bed with fresh sheets. • When you cut a mango or avocado perfectly around the pit. Sweet, sweet success. • When someone surprises you with flowers or something sweet. • When you recognize someone wearing your favorite team’s jersey or in another country. • The feeling you get after booking a trip. • Listening to a baby giggle. • The look on your pet’s face when they see you • Having a really good date with a loved one. • When your food comes at a restaurant. One word: mouthwatering. • The moment when you realize you’re incredibly content. Happiness looks good on you.
•Food and drinks. A simple buffet is easy to pull off, especially if you choose and order the food ahead of time. •Baby Shower Games. You could include games such as races with eggs, candy bars in diapers and testing guests’ knowledge of the animal baby names. Baby showers usually wrap up after a few hours, but the memory of this occasion will last a lifetime for the mom to be.

LOCAL RECIPE OF THE WEEK – SUPU YA NDIZI Supu Ya Ndizi means Plantain soup. This is a delicacy in Tanzania and is made very much in that region. Enjoy this recipe. Ingredients: 2 or 3 (1 pound) green plantains, peeled, 6 cups chicken broth (3 cans of chicken broth may be used), Salt and pepper, to taste Procedure: Slice the peeled plantains and put them into a blender or food processor with 1 cup of the chicken broth. Blend them together until smooth and free of lumps. Pour the remaining 5 cups of chicken broth into a large saucepan. Stir in blended plantain mixture. Cover and cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until soup is thickened (about 45 minutes). Add salt and pepper to taste.

thical eating is understanding where food comes from and making informed choices to improve our impact on the environment and welfare of animals. As you weigh various priorities, values, and consumer tradeoffs, here are some questions you might consider:
1. What type of sustainable-agricultural practices did the growers use? What soil-building and-protecting strategies do they employ?
5. Where is this food from? How far did it have to travel to get to me? How much fossil fuel was required to grow, harvest, and transport it? 6. Were the people who grew and harvested this food treated well? Did they receive a fair price for their labor? 7. Does buying this food contribute to a sustainable food system?
2. Were animals raised on pasture or in the wild (versus feedlots and containment facilities)?
8. Is the food certified organic, or otherwise process-vetted? Is there any way I can find out how it was raised or grown?
3. Were animals treated humanely? Did they live in decent, healthy, environmentally safe conditions?
9. Can I visit or research the farm or facility to see their practices and production?
4. Were these vegetables grown from heirloom seeds, which helps to keep diversity in our food supply?
10. Does this food support my health and happiness as well as that of others?
We supply fresh vegetables, fruits & more food items to home / Office's door steps.

Corporate Highlights SHEIKH ABEID AMANI KARUME DAY IN TANZANIA
COMMUNICATION SKILLS THAT WILL INCREASE YOUR INFLUENCE
W
ords are powerful. They create romance, build business and topple kingdoms. Use them to your advantage. Here are ways you can create greater influence in your life by using the right words. Avoid the standard rhetoric: Don’t answer the question, “How are you?” with anything your listener has ever heard. Instead, let them in on what’s really happening. “Did you just get a new job, go on a blind date? Are you happy about it? Are you sad? Tell them. Be expressive: “The service was absolutely spectacular.” “The meal was absolutely fantastic.” The word “absolutely” increases the power of practically anything you suggest. Ask for what you want: The price is less when you ask. -When we don’t let our thoughts be known we often end up with what others want us to have instead of what we actually want. Stick your neck out there. When your head gets lopped off, put it back on and go again.
O
n April 7, Tanzanians celebrate Sheikh Abeid Amani Karume Day. This public holiday commemorates the assassination of the first President of Zanzibar and first Vice President of Tanzania. Abeid Karume was born on August 4, 1905. He left Zanzibar in the early years of his life and traveled much. In the 1950s, he became the leader of the moderate Afro-Shirazi Party. In 1963, Zanzibar gained independence from the UK as a constitutional monarchy. In the early 1964, the Sultan of Zanzibar was overthrown during the Zanzibar Revolution. The leader of the revolution John Okello invited Karume back to Zanzibar to assume the title of President and in April 1964, Karume agreed to a union with Tanganyika. The two countries united to form the Republic of Tanzania. Tanganyikan President Julius Nyerere became President of Tanzania, while Karume assumed the title of Vice President. Zanzibar remained a semi-autonomous region within the newly created republic, therefore Karume had quite a lot of political power. On April 7, 1972, Karume was shot dead by four gunmen in Zanzibar Town. The anniversary of his death was designed as a public holiday.
Use a little humor: Humor let’s people know you are human which allows them to relax and tell you what you really need to know. Do you want to be like everyone else, lost in the monotone humdrum that is every day conversation? Then say what everyone else is saying. But to be noticed, to influence others, to stir interest so that they respond to what you have to say, adjust your speaking habits. It will bring cheer to those around you and great benefits to your life.

THINGS EVERY WOMAN SHOULD HAVE IN HER CLOSET
E
veryone is different. We all have vastly different lifestyles, jobs, hobbies, tastes, and, therefore, vastly different needs for our wardrobes. Still, there are a few common experiences and needs for instance job interviews, first dates, leaving the house on weekends, almost all of us share. Stock these items in your closet, and you’ll be covered for any of them. 1.Classic Pump. Heels in basic black or a shade of nude to match to your skin tone will work with any outfit and serve a multitude of occasions, from office to big event. 2.The Dress-Up Flat Even the most die-hard stiletto wearers need to give their feet a break, so it helps to have a gorgeous pair of flats tucked away. 3.Go-To Handbag. You use one almost every day, right? Look for something with a classic shape, like a top handle or a tote that’s big enough to fit all of your daily essentials; so you won't have to constantly switch bags. 4.A Stylish Coat. During the chillier months, outerwear is the only thing most people will see you wearing. 5.A Tailored Jacket. Look for styles that fit right at the shoulder and cinch slightly at the waist. 6.Your Perfect little black dress is arguably the most versatile piece of clothing. 7.The Right Jeans. The right jeans disregard trends. 8.A Signature Piece of Jewelry 9.A Timeless Suit. 10. White Button-Up Shirt
SKIN TREATMENT – Week 3 ITCHY SKIN
If you suffer from itchy skin, or even eczema, using store-bought solutions can often worsen the effects. If the skin is already irritated, adding harsh chemicals or essential oils (especially lemon!) can result in a rash, stinging skin or increased itchiness. I have one very important tip for you: Oatmeal is your friend! Oatmeal soothes skin irritation, itching and burns. It is relatively cheap and you can buy it in bulk
What you need:
Oatmeal, Cheesecloth (If you don’t have any, you can use a clean, thin sock), Water
What to do:
Mix the oatmeal with water, keeping the ratio 1:1. Pour the oatmeal into the cheesecloth (or sock) and secure it. Shower or bathe using the oatmeal sachet as a loofa to wash your body. It will help make your skin soft and beautiful and will soothe that nagging itch.

Travel & Holiday A SOLO TRAVELLERS TRIP
T
raveling alone is a one-of-a-kind experience. There are endless advantages to traveling without anyone else in tow. You can choose your destination without having to consult or compromise. You set the budget, the dates, and the itinerary. Here are some things you should do on a solo trip.
Why an Airplane May be Worse for Your Skin than a Tanning Bed
● ● ● ●
Take yourself out to dinner Learn the art of people watching Meet the locals Make a valiant attempt to speak the language ● Ditch your map app ● In fact, ditch your phone altogether ● Spend some time in nature ● Blend into the crowds ● Pay extra attention ● Be smart and safe ● Be selfish ● Take a class in something you know ● Take a class in something unfamiliar ●.Tag along with a tour group ● Do some low-key learning at museums and monuments ● Keep a travel journal ● Attend a performance ● Pop into any shop that calls to you ● Send postcards ● Embrace the introspective moments ● Bring a book and/or good music ● Look into a retreat or volunteerism group ● Don’t judge your choices ●Trust your instincts ●Get to know yourself
W
earing your seatbelt isn’t the only safety precaution you should take on an airplane. If you thought you only needed to pack sunscreen for a beach vacation, think again: according to the Daily Mail’s Georgia Diebelius, you’re at risk for a sunburn every time you board an airplane. The fact is, flying at 30,000 feet [for 60 minutes] can be as dangerous as 20 minutes in a tanning bed. If you consider that, while traveling at cruising altitude, you’re nearly six miles closer to the sun than you would be lounging poolside at ground level, it’s easy to see how damaging that sunshine through your airplane window can be. No one is at greater risk than pilots, who have a known higher incidence of skin cancer. Experts suspect this could be due to regular, extended flight time in front of a large window. Even though you’re next to a small window (and probably spending far less time in the sky than pilots), it’s important to take precautions while traveling. Fortunately, you don’t have to abstain from the window seat altogether. Keep the blinds down when you can, and wear sun protection that is broad spectrum and specifically. If you’re a frequent flyer and are still concerned about clocking too many hours of sunlight on an airplane, consider moving over to the middle seat.
PLANNING A TRAVEL
A
S a traveler, there are some basic things you should always have on your checklist so that you can get everything done perfectly and not meet any surprises. • When to visit • Top cities • When to book • Approximate cost per day • Travel tips • Potential dangers

Health & Fitness Living WORK OFF YOUR EASTER EGGS
AGING WELL HABITS
E
xercise, diet and even attitude can be as important as genetics when it comes to growing old gracefully. Sure, growing older affects nearly every part of your body including your hair, skin, heart, muscles, and more but aging well may be as simple as adopting these (mostly) easy everyday habits. 1. Always maintain a positive attitude. You are what you think you are when it comes to aging. 2. Watch what you eat and how much you eats Nutrition plays a major role in how your body ages. Overeating may lead to a shorter life span, cardiovascular disease, and type 2 diabetes, according to the NIH. 3. Exercise regularly. Staying active is a vital part of aging well. 4. Stay social. Friends and relatives can help you live longer. 5. Protect your skin from the sun. Too much time in the sun can cause wrinkles, not to mention cancer. 6. Get plenty of sleep.
What better time to whip out a jump-based workout than at Easter time. So time to hop to it and work up a great sweat like the Easter bunny. * Double unders - Do two rotations of the rope for every jump. You don’t need to jump higher: the speed of the rope is the most important factor. Having a heavier rope can make this easier. Landing light is safer and more effective. *Box jumps - Stand 30cm back facing your platform. Perform a partial squat and then jump, driving your arms up, landing on top of the platform. Your landing should be soft and controlled. Step off and repeat.

*Lateral hurdle - Use a low hurdle or even a rope. Stand side-on to the hurdle with feet shoulder-width apart and knees soft. Jump sideways across the hurdle and land lightly with soft knees. Once steady, jump back to your original side
CONTACT LENSES
*Jump lunges - Stand with your feet hip-width apart. Stride forward with your left leg. Your feet should be over a meter apart, your back foot should be up on its toes, your front knee should be above your ankle and both feet should be facing forward. Jump up and while in mid-air swing your right leg to the front and your left leg to the back.
erfect eyesight is relatively rare and the cool-glasses look isn't for everyone thus, contact lenses are a way of life for some individuals. And while they offer comfort, convenience, and the glorious gift of sight, there are also some downsides, like heightened risk of some serious eye infections.
*Hurdle and burpee - Use a bigger hurdle or whatever you feel comfortable with. Face the hurdle front-on. Jump forward over the handle and land softly on the other side. Then drop into a burpee
P
T o better understand these risks, researchers from the New York University School of Medicine recently swabbed a bunch of people's eye sockets to compare the bacterial diversity of contact-lens wearers and non-lens wearers. Their findings were that lens wearers were more likely to have skin bacteria in their eyes, suggesting lenses change the eyeball environment to be more welcoming to all the icky stuff that can survive on say, a fingertip, like staph, strep, and a number of other potentially dangerous bacterium. To keep bacteria at bay when you don't see glasses as an option, wash your hands like you mean it (with soap and water) before inserting or removing your lenses, take them out before you turn in at night, and avoid showering or swimming with lenses in. You'll also want to rub, rinse, and store your contacts in fresh disinfectant solution (never water), clean your case with fresh solution after every use, and replace it every three months. And if you ever experience any pain, redness, blurred vision, or discomfort? Get in touch with your eye doctor ASAP.
