Homemade Ginger-Beer
I
love Ginger-beer to the extent that whenever I go out that is the only drink I would like to order. To save cost and have enough for the house I learnt how to make it myself. I would like to share to with you.
INGREDIENTS Four lemons, one orange, three-quarter cup roughly chopped fresh ginger, three-quarter cup honey, three-quarter cup sugar, one whole cup plus a quarter cup orange juice, four cups sparkling mineral water, chilled, slice of apple and cucumber.

DIRECTIONS Grate 2 tablespoons each of lemon and orange zest. Squeeze one-third cup lemon juice from 3 of the lemons. Set aside. In a food processor, pulse the ginger, honey, and sugar until just combined. Add the orange and lemon juices and process. Transfer to a large lidded container. Add the orange and lemon zests and 2 cups of boiling water and stir until the sugar dissolves. Cool to room temperature. Cover and refrigerate for at least 24 hours and up to 5 days. To serve, strain the ginger-beer base into a pitcher. Thinly slice the remaining lemon and orange to form circles. Add the slices as well as slices of apple and cucumber for taste and mineral water to the pitcher and stir. Serve over ice.

ost adults and children eat too much sugar. Cut down by eating fewer sugary foods, such as sweets, cakes and biscuits, and drinking fewer sugary drinks. The kind of sugar we eat too much of is known as "free sugars". Free sugars are any sugars added to food or drinks, or found naturally in honey, syrups and unsweetened fruit juices. The sugars found naturally in whole fruit are less likely to cause tooth decay, because the sugars are contained within the structure of the fruit. But when fruit is juiced or blended, the sugars are released. Once released, these sugars can damage teeth, especially if fruit juice is drunk frequently. When fruit is dried, some sugars can be released, and dried fruit has a tendency to stick to teeth. These tips can help you to cut down:
Baked Chicken in Groundnut Sauce This is a meal you and your family would have to try at home. Ingredients: 3 tbsp groundnut oil, 1 onion, thinly sliced, 1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced, 1 bay leaf, 1/2 tsp hot chilli powder, 200 ml smooth peanut butter, 250 ml coconut milk, 1.5 kg chicken pieces, 4 tomatoes, chopped, 1 tsp thyme, 1 tsp salt, 300 g okra, topped
Instead of sugary fizzy drinks or sugary squash, go for water, lower-fat milks, or sugar-free, diet and no added sugar drinks. Remember that even unsweetened fruit juice is sugary, so limit the amount you have to no more than 150ml a day.
Cooking Instructions: Heat the oil in a large frying pan or skillet and brown the chicken pieces on all sides. Remove the chicken and arrange in a single layer on a baking dish (do not stack. Now drain all but 2 tbsp of the oil and use this remainder to fry the onion, tomatoes, and green pepper.
If you prefer fizzy drinks, try diluting fruit juice with sparkling water. If you take sugar in hot drinks or add sugar to your breakfast cereal, gradually reduce the amount until you can cut it out altogether. Rather than spreading jam, marmalade, syrup, treacle or honey on your toast, try a lower-fat spread, sliced banana or lower-fat cream cheese instead.
Cook for about 10 minutes, or until the onions are soft and the tomato has broken down into a sauce. Add the herbs, spices and salt. Mix to combine then pour the sauce over the chicken. Mix together the coconut milk and peanut butter until smooth then pour over the chicken. Scatter the okra over the top, cover the dish and place in an oven pre-heated to 180C. Bake for 45 minutes then remove the cover and bake for a further 15 minutes (you can add a little stock or water during this final cooking period if you would like more sauce). Serve immediately on a bed of rice.

How to Organize Electronic Files

communications. It’s that easy! Create a Naming Convention When you store multiple drafts of the same document, a clear way of naming files will tell you which version you are looking at. Instead of calling the file “Peter - Proposal”, name it “Peter – Proposal 6-8-08”, signifying the date of the last edit. If several people are working on the same document, include a name or initials at the end so you know who made those updates – “Johnson_Proposal_6-8-08_RFC”. As an added bonus, your files will be in alphabetical, then numeric order when you search for them.
Clean Out Regularly - Once or twice a year, go through your computer files and purge anything that has become outdated, obsolete, or irrelevant to your life. And ask yourself “why” before you save it – especially with email. You don’t need to keep every email notice and solicitation – just save those emails that you will refer back to in the future. Back Up Regularly - At least once a week, save all of your files to an external hard drive, disk, or online backup service. Don’t forget the files in your contact manager, bookkeeping program, and any other software you use regularly! This way, if your computer crashes or something happens to your physical equipment, you always have a copy to fall back on.

Ingredients: Half cup Coconut oil, 15 drops of lime oil or fresh lime juice
Directions: Whisk the solid coconut oil in your mixmaster, kitchen aid, and electric whisk or stick blender. When it starts to soften add the lime drops and keep mixing until nicely whipped. Label it and take note of the best by date on the coconut oil bottle. It’s best not to apply things with citrus oils to the skin before going out into the sun, as they can make the skin more photo-sensitive or more prone to going red. Store the oil in a cool, dark cupboard and most importantly – enjoy! Page
