DRINK RECIPE OF THE WEEK Cingale Cocktail By Our Staff
T
his drink uses maraschino cherries from Italy which are much different than the U.S. variety. In the U.S., maraschino cherries are bright, red, and sugary. In Italy, they're a darker, reddish brown color and have a rich flavor that isn't too sweet and are just a tad tart. At Prezza in Boston's North End neighborhood they use these cherries in an Italian version of a Manhattan they call a "Cingale
Ingredients: 2 and half oz Whistlepig Straight Rye Whiskey, 1 oz Campari, threequarter oz Averna Amaro, Dash of Fee Brothers aromatic bitters, Dash of Luxardo Maraschino cherry juice, Luxardo maraschino cherries. Directions: Pour ingredients, except for the cherries, over ice in a shaker glass, shake well and strain over ice in a rocks glass. Garnish with a skewer of Luxardo Maraschino cherries.
COTSWOLDS
S
ummer is here so let’s enjoy every bit of it with Heineken. It is very fresh and refreshing and a pleasure to drink when served cold. It will give you the capability to recuperate for the week. Sit back, relax and enjoy a chilled glass of Heineken.
Cotswold has a brilliant clear color. Bold, citrusy aromas of lemon oil and cream, piney juniper, herb mĂŠlange, and turpentine and pine sol with a supple, soft, dry-yet-fruity lightto-medium body and a warming, refreshing, cheery nut flour, pepper dust, wet limestone, and key lime zest finish. An intense old world style gin packed with flavor for the boldest of cocktails.
Tamar Hindi
Drinking this beer is enjoyable. Light, crisp, refreshing example of a macro lager.
Tamar Hindi, or Tamarind, is a sour chilled drink usually sold throughout the year in several Arab countries. Tamar Hindi juice is a popular summer drink in the Middle East, where it is widely sold on the street and in shops. It is also a popular drink during iftar, the breaking of the fast during Ramadan, though it will never surpass Qamar al-Din as the favourite drink to break the fast with.

Pours well and looks great in a glass. The smell is a very basic malt and hops with more emphasis on the former rather than the latter.
It is best served on tap from a tall, icecold Peroni glass. Nice creamy white head with fair retention. Your FREE Copy

Japanese Burgers with Wasabi Ketchup RECIPE OF THE WEEK
This recipe is its own eureka. Half beef, half pork, it stayed uncannily moist despite being cooked through. Perfection. It picks up the sweet from the ketchup, while the bubbles and acidity cut through the fat of the meat.
INGREDIENTS FOR THE WASABI KETCHUP: half cup ketchup, 2 tablespoons soy sauce, 1 tablespoon wasabi paste FOR THE BURGERS: half cup panko or other dry bread crumbs, quarter cup whole milk, 8 ounces ground sirloin, 8 ounces ground pork, quarter cup finely chopped white onion, 1 and half teaspoons soy sauce, half teaspoon salt, quarter teaspoon pepper, sesame oil - for coating hands, 4 brioche buns - for serving.
PREPARATION Whisk together the ketchup, soy sauce and wasabi paste.
C
CUCUMBERS
ucumbers belong to the same plant family as squash, pumpkin, and watermelon. Like watermelon, cucumbers are made up of mostly water, which means eating them on a hot summer day can help you stay hydrated.
Prepare a grill for medium heat. In a large mixing bowl, combine the bread crumbs and milk and let rest 2 to 3 minutes. Add the sirloin, pork, onion, soy sauce, salt and pepper. Knead the meat until it becomes sticky and binds together; divide into 4 parts. Lightly dab your hands with sesame oil. Using your palms, roll each part of the meat into a ball, then pat the ball flat, shifting it from hand to hand, to form a 1/2-inch-thick patty. Make a shallow indentation across the center of the patty with the side of your hand, to keep it from puffing while it grills. Grill the burgers, flipping twice, until browned and cooked through, with no pink in the middle, about 10 minutes. (Alternatively, they may be broiled or sautéed.) Let rest for 2 minutes. Serve on buns, topped with some wasabi ketchup.
5 RULES WHEN TO STAY HEALTHY
However, there's reason to eat cucumbers all year long. With vitamin K, B vitamins, copper, potassium, vitamin C, and manganese, cucumbers can help you to avoid nutrient deficiencies that are widespread among those eating a typical American diet. Plus, cucumbers contain unique polyphenols and other compounds that may help reduce your risk of chronic diseases and much, much more.
Some reasons why we should eat cucumber are 1. To protect your brain. 2. Help to lower your risk of breast, uterine, ovarian, and prostate cancers. 3. Reduces unwanted inflammation. 4. Help to fight cancer and lower your risk of chronic diseases including heart disease. 5. Freshen Your Breath. 6. Help to ease feelings of anxiety and buffer some of the damaging effects of stress. 7. Support your digestive health. 8. Maintain a healthy weight. 9. Support heart health with lower blood pressure levels.

Well, the first rule of eating out is you don’t talk about eating out! Kidding. I just feel like that’s a requirement to say when you mention “First Rule.” Use these techniques to help you eat healthy when you’re out on the town: Choose wisely. Like Indiana Jones trying to select the true Holy Grail, whenever you have the opportunity to select the restaurant where you’ll be eatin, take it, but choose wisely! Choosing poorly won’t melt your face
off like the false grail, but it can set you up to fail. Scout the menu first! If possible, scout the menu for the restaurant online and pre-select your option so you don’t have to spend any willpower points wavering what you’re going to order. Don’t even look at the menu! Enlist the help of your server! See something you like that’s 80% of the way there? Ditch the starch! For starters, many restau-
rants will have a protein and starch/carb option. Steak and potatoes, fish and rice, etc. They’ll also have a vegetable option, usually something broccoli, mixed greens, asparagus, spring veggies, etc. Skip dessert. If everybody else at the table is getting dessert, get yourself some coffee and enjoy the company of the people at the table with you. You can do so without stuffing your face.

FACE CLEANSING Face it -- some days skin care probably isn't on the top of your to-do list. Whether you're super busy, under the weather or just don't want to mess with multiple steps to clean your skin, you're likely tempted to skip washing your face at least a few times a week. And if you're away from home, your skin might suffer even more because it can be difficult to drag your normal battery of products along. That's when face cleansing wipes can be a skin saver. Skin care specialists strongly advise washing your face daily, otherwise your skin can break out or become dull. But face cleansing wipes can make it a little more convenient to wipe your face clean before bed. Face cleansing wipes also are easy to use because they come with a cleansing product already on them. Whether they are dry or pre-moistened, the wipes already contain the correct amount and type of ingredients needed for facial cleansing. Even people with acne-prone or sensitive skin have a wide selection of wipes to choose from.

T
he word diabetes has become household and is usually spoken in the same breathe as hypertension, and high cholesterol, unsurprisingly as the three usually come as a triad. The term dates back to the 1500s and originated from Aretaeus, an Alexandrian Physician to mean “excessive discharge of urine” and more recently “a state of plentiful starvation” coined by us modern day physicians to describe the body’s dilemma of having a whole lot of sugar and carbohydrates but its inability to absorb it into the areas where it is needed for biochemical processes. Whichever way we look at it, latest estimates show that over 420 million people worldwide are battling with this ‘lifestyle’ disease that has proved a huge socio-economic burden on both the wealthy and poor, the young and the old due to its indiscriminate nature.
We continue to campaign worldwide for early screening and management of this disease due to the many deleterious effects it eventually has on every single system of the body right from the eyes to the feet. Normally when we eat or drink any type of food it enters the body as complex carbohydrates and these get broken down throughout the alimentary tract into simple sugars which can be absorbed into the bloodstream and transported as building blocks for the body and to allow repair of damaged cells, just the right amounts of sugar, fat, protein are needed for this to happen smoothly and any excess is duly disposed of in urine and faeces. When one has consistently high blood sugar the body gets overwhelmed and can no longer handle the high levels and hence the internal cell structures start to evolve and dysfunction in such cases.
WHO GETS DIABETES Anybody from the young to the old, there is Type 1 diabetes Mellitus which is seen in infants and adolescents where the pancreas is not secreting enough insulin which is needed to absorb sugar, and Type 2 diabetes where the insulin is produced but the body rejects its actions and hence sugar remains in circulation. Pregnant women can sometimes have gestational diabetes which usually disappears post-delivery but can turn into the full blown disease, hence the importance of having good care throughout pregnancy. There are many other subtypes of diabetes.

Based on these results we are able to decide what management best suits you ranging from; Dietary advice, weight loss, exercise advice, oral medications, use of insulin if need-be and the regular doctor visits to see one’s progress. We strive to keep the disease under control to avoid adverse effects that include: 1.Heart attacks 2. Strokes 3. Kidney Failure 4. Liver failure 5. Chronic wounds and amputations 6. Cataracts 7. Blindness If you are having any of the above symptoms do pay us a visit to learn more about this and other diseases.

WOMEN'S HEALTH TIPS FOR HEART, MIND, AND BODY
L
ooking for the path toward a healthier you? It's not hard to find. The journey begins with some simple tweaks to your lifestyle. The right diet, exercise, and stress-relief plan all play a big role.
There's an easy recipe if your goal is to keep away problems like heart disease and strokes. Eat more fruits and veggies. Choose whole grains. Try brown rice instead of white. Switch to whole wheat pasta. Choose lean proteins like poultry, fish, beans, and legumes. Cut down on processed foods, sugar, salt, and saturated fat. Exercise Every Day. The more active you are, the better. Exercise boosts your heart health, builds muscle and bone strength, and wards off health problems. Aim for 2 and a half hours of moderate activity, like brisk walking or dancing, every week. If you're OK with vigorous exercise, stick to 1 hour and 15 minutes a week of things like running or playing tennis. Add a couple of days of strength training, too. If you're busy, try short bursts of activity throughout the day. Walk often. A good target is 10,000 steps a day. Take the stairs. Park your car far away from your destination. Montgomery exercises every day, often with her dog. When you shed pounds you'll lower your risk of heart disease, type 2 diabetes, and cancer.

HEALTH TIPS
Many factors affect your health. Some you cannot control, such as your genetic makeup or your age. But you can make changes to your lifestyle. By taking steps toward healthy living, you can help reduce your risk of heart disease, cancer, stroke and other serious diseases: • Get the screening tests you need. • Maintain a healthy weight. • Eat a variety of healthy foods, and limit calories and saturated fat. • Be physically active • Don't smoke. • Control your blood pressure and cholesterol. • Protect yourself from too much sun. • Drink alcohol in moderation, or don't drink at all.

it-ups once ruled as the way to tighter abs and a slimmer waistline, while "planks" were merely flooring. Now planks exercises in which you assume a position and hold it are the gold standard for working your core, while classic sit-ups and crunches have fallen out of favor. Why the shift? One reason is that sit-ups are hard on your back they push your curved spine against the floor and work your hip flexors, the muscles that run from the thighs to the lumbar vertebrae in the lower back. When the hip flexors are too strong or too tight, they tug on the lower spine, which can create lower back discomfort. Second, planks recruit a better balance of muscles on the front, sides, and back of the body during exercise than do sit-ups, which target just a few muscles. Finally, activities of daily living, as well as sports and recreational activities, call on your muscles to work together, not in isolation. Sit-ups or crunches strengthen just a few muscle groups. Through dynamic patterns of movement, a good core workout helps strengthen the entire set of core muscles you use every day. Page
