Rotary International President Elect Barry Rassin visits Tanzania

Barry Rassin President Elect of Rotary International

he President Elect of Rotary International, one of the world’s largest humanitarian service organizations, has visited Rotary Clubs and their projects in Dar es Salaam. Being Rotarian since 1980, Barry Rassin has served Rotary as director and as vice chair of The Rotary Foundation Board of Trustees. He received Rotary’s highest honor, the Service Above Self Award, as well as other humanitarian awards for

his work leading Rotary’s relief efforts in Haiti after the 2010 earthquake there. He will serve as President for Rotary International for 2018-19. During his visit to Tanzania, Rassin met young Rotaractors who presented their projects for the coming year and shared his vision for their contributions to Rotary International. Rotarians from clubs all over Tanzania traveled to Dar es Salaam to learn about his plans for the coming year. Rassin took part in tree planting activities at Jangwani Secondary School – part of Rotary District 9211’s Mission Green initiatives to reduce carbon footprint. He also visited Rotary Pediatric Oncology ward, Retino blastoma project and the Heart Institute at the
