WELCOME FROM THE AIFST CEO

On behalf of The Australian Institute of Food Science and Technology Limited (AIFST), welcome to AIFST23, our annual Convention, and foodpro 2023.

AIFST and foodpro have a long and successful association and the co-location of our premier events brings together a large and diverse agri-food industry audience. This is an excellent opportunity to attend two events in one venue.

AIFST’s key strategic pillars are grow, learn, connect, and champion and these two events provide opportunities to grow your knowledge of the agri-food industry, learn about trends and developments, connect with colleagues, and make new connections and champion the role of food science and food scientists.

The theme for AIFST23, The Science of Food Security & Sustainability, speaks to the challenges and exciting opportunities ahead for the agri-food industry and the vital role food science and technology will play.

Over two days with plenary and three concurrent session streams, the Convention will feature over 50 scientific and food industry speakers from across the agri-food sector. Food safety will feature strongly alongside advances in health and nutrition, sensory and consumer science, food security and resilience, sustainability, and packaging. We will also recognise excellence in the food industry and food science at our Annual Awards ceremony.

Our popular evening networking event on Monday July 24th provides the opportunity to reconnect with colleagues and build new connections.

We have full and one-day registrations available for any foodpro exhibitors or visitors wishing to participate in the AIFST Convention sessions.

In addition to our two-day Convention technical program, join AIFST on Wednesday July 26 for Navigating the Food Regulation Maze – a half day workshop designed to help your business collect and manage the information needed to assist with regulatory compliance.

Whether you are a professional or student, member or non-member, marketer, or scientist, working in food processing and distribution, food safety or quality assurance, training, or retailing, AIFST is here to support you. I invite you to visit us at the AIFST foodpro Stand B-50 to discuss the benefits of joining AIFST and the services we offer businesses seeking to reach the Australian agri-food industry community.

We look forward to a great event and would like to thank all our partners, delegates, and visitors for making AIFST23 Convention and foodpro 2023 a great success!
