Schelskes Ms Cheyanne 9245A

From our first crop by Identified, here is a great combination of power, performance, and calving ease that ranks among the Top 1% of the breed for CED and BW; this is the next great product of Cheyanne 9245 family. Sisters to the dam of this extra-wide and massive bull produced a $10,000 bull in our 2015 lineup to Keene Farms, WI, and a $7,600 bull a year ago to Laurie Glenn, IL. His sure-shot calving ease is complimented by top end rankings for $W, $B, and Tenderness from a cow family whose sons grow and perform well each year. This might be the stoutest of the Identified sons!

HB Calving Ease Angus Bulls We’ve worked diligently the last few years to be able to provide a strong selection of calving ease bulls such as this set. We want calving season to be as easy as possible, but with quality in the calves who will grow as they mature. These Angus bulls are smart selections for reliable calving ease with lower birth weights and added maternal strength.

The real deal from a power-packed pedigree, this is a young superstar and the next great product of our “603” female. She is sired by the $32,000 top seller of our 2014 sale and she looks like she will create plenty of high sellers herself with her impeccable structure, ideal size, great belly shape, and eye-catching balance. Her maternal sister is a big producer for the Norris Family, IA, after being selected as the Reserve Grand Champion Angus Female of the 2011 IA State Fair. A great blend of Simmental, Angus, and just enough Chi to straighten her up, this big baldy is sure to be a favorite and a top producer. She might be the deepest middled with the best udder of these half-blood females – and that’s saying something! – and her structure is A+. She moves great, balances well, and is coming with a quick pay day by A Step Up!

Dear Cattlemen: Welcome back to the Horsley Brothers Sale! This annual auction of better black bulls and females stands as an example of how to do things right in this business as it is one of the longest-running events of its kind in our region. Family owned and family operated since 1970, the Horsley crew has been developing better seed stock and treating their customers the right way through many wild ups and down in this great business. They are here to stay. This impressive 2017 offering showcases their time-tested approach to building better cattle, but a quick glance at this catalog will also show you how the HB team is using modern technologies to assist you with bull selection and to more efficiently raise the quality in your herd while they aggressively work to do the same in theirs. This is the first time that we have offered genomic-enhanced EPD data on any HB bulls. While this more thorough evaluation of the cattle points out both strengths and weaknesses of individuals and we know that visual analysis is still a very important element of cattle selection here and on your farm, our aim is that our complete use of this technology will help you find the best tools for the jobs you need to do. We strive to sell cattle you can rely on, whatever your goals may be. Take note of the youth of this offering. All of the females will deliver their first calves shortly after the auction and many of the bulls were produced from first-calf dams. The HB team is rapidly turning over generations in their herd to provide you with the fresh genetics you need all while still focusing on their performance-tested cow families that have delivered the best results over many years in production. Longevity counts for a lot in this business and many others. Horsley Brothers knows that raising better cattle and making money in this business is not nearly as much about “flash and dash” as it is about selling good cattle, making sure that they do their jobs, and earning repeat business. I hope you’ll join us in Toulon as we present another offering of HB-stock that will bring you back for more. You’ll be glad you did. I hope to see you sale day, Craig Reiter Horsley Brothers Auction Manager 419.350.9159 – auction day craig@primetimeagrimarketing.com
