NOTIFICATION
G.O. (P) No.30/2002/Law. Dated, Thiruvananthapuram, 19th January, 2002
S. R. O. No.48/2002.- In exercise of the powers conferred by Sub-section (1) of section 8 of the Hindu Marriage Act, 1955(Central Act 25 of 1955),the Government of Kerala hereby make the following rules further to amend the Kerala Hindu Marriage Registration Rules,1957,namely:-
RULES
1. Short title and commencement- (1) These rules may be called the Kerala Hindu Marriage Registration (Amendment) Rules, 2002. (2) They shall come into force at once.
2. Amendment of the Rules- In the Kerala Hindu Marriage Registration Rules, 1957, in rule 13, after clause (iii), the following clause shall be inserted, namely:-
“(iv) a fee of ten rupees shall be remitted for each certified extract of the Register”.

Explanatory Note
(This does not form part of the notification, but is intended to indicate its general purport.)
The State Finance Commission has proposed in its Final Report,1996(recommendation No.24(A))to amend rule 13 of the Kerala Hindu Marriage Registration Rules,1957 to levy a fee for the issue of each certificate of marriage Act,1955, certified extract from Hindu Marriage Register Shall be given to the applicant by the Registrar on payment of the prescribed fee. Now the Government have decided to collect a fee of ten rupees for each certified extract of the Register form the applicant.
This notification is intended to achieve the above object
