There are those who fly. And those who fly Sikorsky.

Get to know us before you fly with us. At Sikorsky, we measure our company’s strength, first and foremost, by our employees and our customers. Sikorsky employs more than 9,000 highly skilled and dedicated workers across the United States and around the world. From the world’s most advanced militaries to the world’s most successful entrepreneurs, those who demand the very best fly Sikorsky helicopters. Sikorsky not only sets the standard for rotorcraft excellence and safety; we exceed it. First, with a wide array of high-performing aircraft. Then, with a comprehensive network of service and support that has no equal. In the world of vertical flight, one name stands above the rest: Sikorsky. Based in Stratford, Connecticut, Sikorsky has major facilities in other Connecticut locations as well as in Florida, New York, Alabama and Wisconsin.

The man who flew Sikorsky first. The legacy of Igor Sikorsky, our company’s founder, still leads the helicopter industry today, and the Winged-S emblem still signifies the world’s most advanced rotorcraft. The Russian-born scientist, engineer, pilot and entrepreneur made fixed and rotary wing aviation history with a mix of genius and determination. In 1931, Igor patented a design that is now familiar throughout the helicopter industry - a single large main rotor and small anti-torque tail rotor. The stable, practical, and immensely versatile flying machines invented by Igor Sikorsky in the early 1930s continue to influence the innovations and quality of our helicopters today. New partners flying together. New ideas revolutionizing the way you fly. Schweizer

X2 Technology

When it comes to helicopter innovation, Sikorsky stands above the rest.

Sikorsky is growing and building on its strengths, by offering a complete line of light helicopters through its subsidiary, Schweizer Aircraft, including the 300C, the 300CBi, and the turbine-powered 333. Schweizer is leading the way in unmanned helicopters, with the Fire Scout VTUAV. The Fire Scout will operate autonomously to meet U.S. Navy and U.S. Army requirements for reconnaissance and precision targeting. Schweizer also offers the SA 2-37B and RU-38B, pointdesigned fixed-wing reconnaissance aircraft with the unique ability to covertly detect and monitor activity on land or sea.

Our company has stood the test of time. Yet we still stand on the cutting edge. Our new X2 Technology™ is a quantum leap in rotorcraft innovation and our X2 Technology Demonstrator will begin flying in 2006, leaving other helicopters in its wake as it powers toward 250 knots. There’s never been a more exciting time to be a part of the most exciting industry in the world. Somewhere, Igor is smiling.
