Words of Welcome The Peace
The peace of the Lord be with you. And also with you.
Call to Worship We come to God this day, the One who names each of us as a beloved child. Here in these moments together, we would recognize God dwelling in us. We come to Christ this day, the One whose love is the bedrock of our lives. Here in this place of glory and grace, we would understand the one who calls us. We come to the Spirit this day, the One who would transform our uncertainties into confidence and courage. Here with those who are our sisters, brothers, siblings, we would embrace our powerful purpose. {adapted from Thom Shuman}
Hymn
“I Sing the Almighty Power of God”
UMH #152
I sing the almighty power of God, that made the mountains rise, that spread the flowing seas abroad, and built the lofty skits. I sing the wisdom that ordained the sun to rule the day; the moon shines full at God's command, and all the stars obey. I sing the goodness of the Lord, who filled the earth with flood, who formed the creatures thru the Word, and then pronounced them good. Lord, how thy wonders are displayed, wherever I turn my eye, If I survey the ground I tread, or gaze up at the sky. There's not a plant or flower below, but makes thy glories known, and clouds arise, and tempests blow, by order from thy throne; while all the borrows life from thee is ever in thy care; and everywhere that we can be, thou, God, art present there. Prayer of Confession God knows the lengths we go to in pursuing our foolish desires. God knows the unwise choices we make each day. Yet, God knows the power of Christ working in us, so that we might discover the richness of God's mercy, as we pray, confessing, God, you call us and name us. And you know that we are often rootless and groundless, wandering through life. Our wild thoughts and foolish deeds drag us further and further from you. Our doubts and lack of self-love deprive us and others of the gifts you give the world through us. Forgive us. Remind us that you love us more than we can ever know. Awaken us once more to the ways you lavish grace upon us, delighting in us, sustaining us through each of our days. {Silence for prayer}
Words of Assurance Do not be afraid! In Christ, God comes near to us, bringing hope, joy and forgiveness into our lives. God gathers up the fragments of our lives and shapes us into the people we were created to be. In the name of Jesus Christ, we are forgiven. In the name of Jesus Christ, we are forgiven. Thanks be to God! Alleluia! Amen. {adapted from Thom Shuman}

Sermon
“When We Give Our All”
Rev. Jenny Smith Walz
Commissioning of Elected Leaders We are God's church; We come together to worship. God has given us God's Word: We come together to learn. God has filled us with God's power. We go out to speak truth to power, to seek justice, peace, and reconciliation. God has called us into this particular beloved community. We come together to share our lives. God has put God's words on our lips: We go out to proclaim the good news to the world. God has given us God's Spirit. We come together to celebrate in joy. God has showered us with God's riches: We share joyfully and generously with one another. God has freed us from our past: So that we might liberate others. God has planned for us a glorious future: To be a source of spiritual and communal healing and transformation. Let us pray: We thank you, God, for this congregation, the people called Princeton United Methodist Church and the ways you've organized us to be your people. We thank you for Church Council and for the ministry they will offer in leading our church into your Vision, Mission, and Goals for PUMC. Thank you, God, for the Nominations and Lay Leadership, Trustees, Staff-Parish Relations Committee, Stewardship and Finance, Endowment, and Technology Teams, who lead us to care for the thousands of organizational details, big and small. Thank you God for the Adult Formation, Children and Youth Formation, Communications, Membership and Growth, Outreach, and Worship Teams, who lead us to grow in our discipleship and care for one another and the community beyond these walls.
God, you have called these leaders and they have been chosen by your people here at PUMC for… ...with every spiritual gift, as our elected leaders for 2022 to engage their ministry in your power. Fill us as a congregation with your love for these persons before us today, that we may support them in these ministries of leadership with our prayers, counsel, encouragement, and all things needed that your will be done in them and through us. Give them all that is needed to lead us to be the church you've called us to be. Amen. {adapted from John Leach and others}
To Respond in Faith Hymn
“Take My Life and Let It Be”
UMH #399
Take my life, and let it be consecrated, Lord to thee. Take my moments and my days; let them flow in ceaseless praise. Take my hands, and let them move at the impulse of thy love. Take my feet, and let them be swift and beautiful for thee. Take my voice, and let me sing always, only, for my King. Take my lips, and let them be filled with messages from thee. Take my silver and my gold; not a mite would I withhold. Take my intellect and use every power as thou shalt choose. Take my will, and make it thine; it shall be no longer mine. Take my heart, it is thine own; it shall be thy royal throne. Take my love, my Lord, I pour at thy feet its treasure store. Take myself, and I will be ever, only, all for thee. Prayers of the People The Lord’s Prayer Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come; thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory forever. Amen.

“The Summons”
TFWS #2130
Will you come and follow me if I but call your name? Will you go where you don't know and never be the same? Will you let my love be shown, will you let my name be known, Will you let my life be grown in you and you in me? Si te llamo, seguiras mis pasos sin cesar? Al desconocido iras? Te dejaras cambiar? Les demostraras mi amor? O braras siempre en mi honor? Dejaras que crezca en ti, y creceras en mi? Will you love the "you" you hide if I but call your name? Will you quell the fear inside and never be the same? Will you use the faith you've found to reshape the world around, Through my sight and touch and sound in you and you in me? Si te llamo, amaras tu verdadero ser? Tu temor rechazaras? Podras en mi vencer. Traeras a mi creacion nueva vida, paz, perdon? Viviras como vivi y vivo yo en ti? Lord, your summons echoes true when you but call my name. Let me turn and follow you and never be the same. In your company I'll go where your love and footsteps show. Thus I'll move and live and grow in you and you in me. Tu me llamas, seguire tus pasos, my Senor. Y cambiado estare, seguro en tu amor. Junto a ti caminare, donde vayas, yo ire. Por tu fuerza vivire en ti, y tu en mi. Benediction Postlude
