Call to Worship Psalm 100 Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all of you, from every land. Serve the Lord with gladness and come before God's presence with singing! Know that the Lord is God; it is God who has made us, and not we ourselves. We are God's people, and the sheep of God's pasture. Enter into God's gates with thanksgiving! And into God's courts with praise. Be thankful unto God and bless God's name! For the Lord is good and God's mercy is everlasting. And God's truth endures to all generations! Hymn

From All That Dwells Below the Skies

UMH #101

adapted from Thom Shuman Prayer of Confession When we offer our prayers of confession, God takes them from us and fills our hearts with such an abundance of mercy, we cannot hold it all. Please join me as we pray together, saying, God, we are aware that at times we are empty. We too often fill our souls with things that do not satisfy. We are careful to follow the prescriptions our doctors give us, yet pay little heed to your hopes for us. We puff our chests out over what good people we are, yet do not notice how our pride trips those who seek to follow Jesus. Forgive us, Holy One, and be gracious to us: astound us with your words, so we may learn your ways; nourish us with your mercy, so we may be filled with life; enter our empty souls, till they overflow with praise. silence for prayer

Words of Assurance Of all of the astounding work and word of God, this may be most wonderful: God is gracious and merciful to us. God calls us beloved. In the name of Jesus Christ, we are forgiven! In the name of Jesus Christ, we are forgiven! Thanks be to God! Alleluia! Amen.

The Lord's Prayer Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come; thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory forever. Amen. Offertory
