Pre-Service Music Sonata in A, K 208 Domenico Scarlatti Call to Worship adapted from Illustrated Ministry When it’s hard to love our neighbor, we gather to be your people. When we feel weak and need strength to run the good race, we gather to be your people. We bring our joys and our sorrows, and we gather to be your people. We open our eyes to the hurts of this world, we gather to be your people. We believe in the promises to come, and so we gather to be your people. So we can remember we are part of something bigger than ourselves, we gather to be your people. We ask others to join us at this table, and we gather to be your people. Hymn For All the Saints v. 1,2,4,5 UMH #711 Prayer of Confession We know you are always with us, God, but we often forget. We belong to you, God, we are yours. We know we are not alone in this world, God, but we often act like it. We don't always love each other well. It's difficult to forgive and be forgiven. We forget that you have given us to one another, to love and be loved. We belong to this community, God, we are yours. We know you teach us we don't have to be afraid of death and of dying, God, yet we forget. Connect us once again to all of those who have gone before us into the mystery of death. We belong to the communion of saints, the great cloud of witnesses, who help us in our journey. We are yours. We know you send us to be your hands and feet and heart in the world, God, but we often forget. Or we get discouraged when we don't do it perfectly. Remind us that you love us and send us anyway, just because we are yours. silence for prayer Words of Assurance Look around! Do you see? the people in front of you, the people behind you, the people on the other side of the room or the other side of the camera or screen? They are like you. And you are like them. Regular, ordinary, extraordinary saints. People we love and people we have yet to meet. Thirsting for love, for belonging, for the fullness of life. We are yours, God. We are yours. In the name of Jesus Christ, we are forgiven! In the name of Jesus Christ, we are forgiven! Thanks be to God! Alleluia! Amen. SHARING IN WORSHIP TODAY

The Lord's Prayer Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kin-dom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. And forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, for yours is the kin-dom, and the power, and the glory forever. Amen. Prayer After Receiving Eternal God, we give you thanks for this holy mystery in which you have given yourself to us. Grant that we may go into the world in the strength of your Spirit, to give ourselves for others, in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
