Words of Welcome The Peace
The peace of the Lord be with you. And also with you.
Call to Worship Praise God with clapping hands; praise God with hands comforting a child. Praise God is silent hearts; praise God with hearts broken for the world. Praise God with electric guitars; praise God with soft piano chords. Praise God with be-bop and hip-hop; praise God with rhythms that don't stop. Praise God with a hallelujah chorus; praise God with a Gregorian chant. Praise God with dancing steps; praise God with feet walking for justice. Hymn

In Unity We Lift Our Song

Prayer of Confession When we keep our faults and failures locked safely away, we have no need to confess. But God comes into our hearts when we least expect, so we can be filled with the presence of the risen Christ, with forgiveness, with belovedness. God of empty tombs and empty people: We confess that at times we are skeptics. We see the oppression, marginalization, and plain hate that still plague our world, and it is hard to see how Easter matters. When we find it difficult to love one another, we wonder how powerful your love really is. When we struggle to find the courage and the words to speak of your forgiveness, your grace, your new life, we wonder if it's really worth the effort.
Forgive us, living God, and fill us with your Easter joy. Give us compassion. Remind us of the enormity of your love for all of creation. Free us from our fear, and give us words to share your good news with all who need it. silence for prayer
Words of Assurance Christ comes into every shadowed corner of our lives with the light of Easter. Christ comes into the locked rooms of our faults and reminds us that we are risen, forgiven, and beloved. In the name of Jesus Christ, we are forgiven! In the name of Jesus Christ, we are forgiven! Thanks be to God! Alleluia! Amen. adapted from Thom Shuman and Rev. Mindi
